Cannot wait till our boy's old enough to play with Lego - I'm sure he'll need daddy to help out with all the massive sets he's going to be getting for his playroom... *cough*
So, so tempted to buy the Millennium Falcon before it's discontinued and stash it for a few years until he's ready.

What I did was start buying Christmas sets in anticipation of my boy being old enough to play them. Truth be told, three of them are still in their boxes, but I'm still getting the Gingerbread House set.

I have the Christmas train and the Winter Train station, which we have built. In addition I have last year's fire station, Santa's workshop and the Winter Toy Shop*. I'm honestly not sure if those will get built this year; my kid loves the Gingerbread man story so we're 100% doing that one this year.

tl;dr - what Rex K said. You can't just buy one...


* I also bought the City train set to get extra track and the motor. I bought a separate motor set for lights, and I also bought four non-Lego white baseplates to make a nice snow scene. Pus various Advent calendar pieces to be 'extras' on set.

I am always tempted by the Christmas sets, but have managed to hold off buying any so far. Most of my Lego spending goes on the stuff the kids want these days which generally means endless Ninjago sets at the moment!

I'm not sure what to think of this.

Glad I didn't bother making that trip now.

I think it's so it can hold things like a normal minifigure. It comes with some bricks and it looks like it can hold a 2x2 round brick-sized object. Looks better on it's own I think.

But...not for me!

We're arranging our attic storage, and it turns out I have a bit of a Lego problem.
I only have a few sets out on display at a time, so I lose track of what I have.

Stacked up to the roof were the Lego postal boxes, and in each one were a couple of large sets.

Including at least 7 modulars (most of them for fire brigade onwards, including Town Hall & Assembly Square)
Ninjago City, City Docks, Destiny's Bounty, Temple of Airjitsu
Haunted House
VW Camper Van
3 winter village sets
A mass of Lord of the Rings/Hobbit Stuff.
And all my vintage stuff I've had since I was a kid.

It's been acquired over the years, so I guess I didn't realise it was accumulating so much.
Does anyone else feel like confessing, and perhaps making me feel a bit better?

They never do A lot of the big sets now are so expensive! Might redeem the £100-odd of VIP discounts I've got saved up against it, though. That'd get it to a more palatable price.

I was wondering that; I'm sure the price point is usually higher, too. I'm buying a couple of things, so I might get one now and hold one back in case there's another free thing later.

Hoping for something equivalent this year.

They typically do a weird "advent calendar" style kit where you get a bunch of parts and you can make 24 different models (although not all at once), so I'd imagine they'll be giving those away a little closer to December

I have an unopened one of those from about three years ago. Should just contribute the bricks to the communal tub, tbh.

That's what I'm talking about. I never got last year's - shot my bolt too early when I bought the Winter Fire Station on launch day.

I believe it's a Christmas tree and a mini version of the Gingerbread house this year (different to the gingerbread house freebee from 2015)
