Just bought the Lego Central Perk set, going to put that next to the Seinfeld set when it's released.

I can't believe they approved SEINFELD but didn't approve the Planet Express ship. Disappointed.

I started the Saturn V today. Spent nearly the whole day with the F1 in between to build the first stage. What a fantastic build, so intricate.

The thing is going to be bloody huge too!

I'm tempted to buy a Lepin Detective's Office fro £90 because I can't find the Lego version for less than £300 new.

How has that company not been sued in to oblivion

It's amazing how little they change, as though the tiny differences prove the set isn't a straight rip-off of an official Lego one My friend's been looking at the Apocalypsburg set from the Lego Movie 2, and they've modified the sticker for the coffee shop so it's called "Coffee Unc ained"

Specifically in regards to the retired sets my view is if Lego doesn't want to make them, Lepin are just filling a gap in the market.

What's the quality like on these? I feel a bit dirty buying one but, like Mori said, if the set is discontinued then there really is no other option.

From what I've read it's far better than you'd think it would be but inferior to the real thing. The mini-figures' arms have to be manually attached apparently.

There's a few other weird bits like with the Mickey and Minnie figures with Steamboat Willie (and presumably other Disney sets) the faces are separate parts that clip onto the head.

Knowing it's not real Lego would taint it for me

I've bought a few of the Modular buildings in lockdown- got a Diner, Book Store, Palace Cinema and Assembly Square but the Detective's Office would be the crown jewel. I would much rather get a genuine Lego copy rather than Lepin. I'm watching a few Ebay auctions and I've got a line on a Buy it Now at £316 including delivery.

Can't really justify that price though if a Lepin is £90.

Do you need a new one? Second hand seems a fair bit cheaper.

I started on the modulars back at the time of the fire brigade - I've missed a few, but pretty much have the ones I want, fortunately - the prices get silly when they retire.

A greengrocer would be lovely, though. Still tempted to bricklink one at some point - but to save money on those sand green bricks, just the front needs to be accurate, the rest can be a bit more vague I reckon.

I'd be all over this.
