It, The Stand and 'Salem's Lot are excellent suggestions. SL is by far the shortest of those if you're not in the mood for a 900 page book.

The Dark Half, Revival, FireStarter and Joyland are all awesome too.

Making my way through every Stephen King book ever written, I recently bought Christine off an Amazon seller.

Now the cover advertised was supposed to be this:

What the hell is that? Perhaps the worst book cover I've ever seen.

I'm doing the same thing, although I'm not doing the short stories only the novels. Am currently reading Bag of Bones, I have a list in OneNote and am randomly picking the one to read next so I dont just do them in release order.

I'm trying to do publication order and follow along with that Losers' Club podcast but I skipped Carrie. I will read it eventually but I feel like every iconic scene is ingrained into the zeitgeist and I've got enough to read right now.

I'm going to struggle to get some of them as there seem to be some that aren't on Kindle and I refuse to get the actual books.

I'm the opposite, I can't get e-books. I want a physical tome I can then put on a bookshelf.

I can't stand the feel of paper and stuff so kindle is the only way really, was awesome when I discovered it a few years back and re-discovered the joy of reading I had as a kid.

Plus i sort of having the bookshelf thing on the kindle as it shows all the covered and I can sort in collections. Much better

Carrie is pretty good. I liked the way it was written.

Last King book I read was the newest Dark Tower one (Wind Through the Keyhole, I think it was called). I thought it was a little bit pointless and it could've been a standalone easily enough. I don't understand why he decided to connect it to the Dark Tower universe. It added strawberry float all to it.

One thing annoyed me about it though when one of the kids was being chased by the car and managed to get up onto an earth bank (or something like that, it’s been years since I read it) and was laughing at the car because it couldn’t get to him. And then a ghost climbed out of the car and murdered him. I thought that was unfair and kind of breaking the rules of a killer car!

Not sure I remember that bit, I think I have wiped it from my mind as it was so crap.

I liked Christine. Thought it did a great job with a strawberry floating daft premise.
