I've just gone for this, but the extra one that charges £2/month, while bizarrely giving you £5/month back as long as you open the mobile app once a month and have at least two direct debits.

Shame about first direct, if you've EVER had an account with them they won't give.

The likes of Halifax, Natwest, etc always give you money if you've been away from them for about 2 or 3 years (which means the sooner you leave a bank after claiming a bonus, the better it is for a future). Nationwide don't seem to have a bloody clue and just keep giving more. I got £125 quid last september from nationwide, switched to Santander for £130, now nationwide are offering it AGAIN. I'll switch my Santander back, I wouldn't be surprised if they stamp on me though.

I must have made about 2 to 3 K through these incentives over the years now.

Does £1250+ taken from switched account count? (So say I have over £1250 in Barclays account which NatWest will take said money from and close. Will that count as the £1250 deposit?)

I'm waiting on Santander to pay me out so I can switch that out, seems to be taking forever but I'm sure they pay within 60 days.

So I created a 2nd account with Barclays and shifted some money in there. That's the account NatWest will close.

Anyway!

I've asked them on their app chat. They'll reply in 24 hours (I'm used to talking to people in bank chat as and when I need to.) I guess that possibly explains where all this money they're giving away is coming from But I won't *actually* be banking with them so that's fine.

I think your fine just to deposit the money in once the accounts open, it can be over several transactions as well.

Also once done you will be fine to transfer it straight out

I don't think they care about that, they're just trying to encourage some activity so you actually use it.
