Is that like a baby of whatever species Yoda is? :dread:

I enjoyed that, anyway. Thought they'd go for longer episodes considering there's only meant to be eight(?) of them, though.

Hope IG-11 recovers from that :shifty: Couldn't tell it was Taika Waititi at all. Maybe the blast just damages his communication centre..? :( He had some great little animations.

Are the Mandalorian's like a tribe of people rather than a race, then? I know nothing about them :slol: Wonder if the tragic backstory they're already hinting at will make this fella a more interesting character than Boba Fett was :dread:

Is the next one out this Friday or next Friday?

Well I loved that first episode.

The EU fanboy was satisfied.

I’m not sure what Mandalorians are now, in the old EU they were a race on the outskirts of the old republic who were at war with the old republic. Seeing as Disney has pissed all over the EU it’s likely that’s no longer the case.

The Mandalorians are a race of people from the system [and sector] of Mandalore. Their entire culture was [and still is] based on the warrior's traditions. They fought against Jedi during the Sith Wars, with most warrior clans eventually being wiped out. Death Watch remained, waiting for the moment to strike back, while other remaining fighting clans spread out throughout the sector upon Duchess Satine being instated and bringing Mandalore into a pacifist way of life. Through events during the Clone Wars, that way of life was mostly shattered, and Mandalore as a system once again ended up as a warzone.

And depending on your viewpoint about the words of Prime Minister Almec, Jango is either a part of or separate from that culture. I feel, as has been the case with Rebels, that this series might answer a few more things about the history of Mandalore and - even if indirectly - give a proper answer to that question. Though others will say it was already answered.

Assuming all the episodes are available straight away when the service launches in the UK it at least means you only have to pay for a month and then cancel straight away.

I think Jango is separate from the clan.

As he removed his helmet. A true Mandalorian would never do that as hinted by the first episode?

I enjoyed the first episode, although something was a bit odd about it and I can't quite figure it out.

It looked fantastic though, and the highlight for me was IG-88's action scene and 'self-destruct' gag.

If that's the case, Death Watch leader Pre Vizsla isn't a true Mando either. Neither is Clan Wren.

Could I get the evil PM please?

Watched the first episode tonight, very impressed.

Visually it's an absolute treat, pure Star Wars for inventiveness and spectacle. The protagonist is suitably mysterious and badass, the new Gonk droid was wonderful, Herzog was great, IG-11 was fantastically well done. Overall, very enjoyable, looking forward to more.

I would absolutely love a PM if anyone can help me out? I haven’t used torrents or anything of the sort in about ten years now so I don’t even know what the go to sites and programs are for that, nevermind whatever people do to watch shows via a means that isn’t torrenting.

I was just happily minding my business when I noticed that not only had I stumbled into some torrenting hive of scum and villainy, but I'd somehow downloaded a 4k version of this and watched it!

Shocking stuff.

Thought it was really good. I wasn't blown away by it and it was shorter than I expected (38 minutes is an odd time), but I'm interested to see where it goes.

Pascal is a good fit so far and comes across as suitably badass. It'll be good to see where they take him. Though I'm waiting for the no-doubt inevitable appearance of Boba Fett at some point down the line.

I would be curious to know how long after Jedi the show is set. Have they said?

Liked but didn't love that. It establishes itself well and sets up some of the central players effectively (although we haven't really met a "big bad" yet) which is obviously the key challenge for a new show.

It was very "safe" Star Wars: dusty planets, bandits, shady underworlds, cantinas where everyone is so familiar with violence that they barely raise their heads etc. but again I can forgive that to an extent as it helps to connect us to what has gone before. Hopefully they move into more interesting areas visually and thematically as things progress.

It looked very nice production-wise, the CGI and effects were excellent for the most part and it's clear that they haven't tried to do this "on the cheap" which was something that concerned me beforehand.

Interesting to see if they stick with the "never taking the helmet off" thing and how that potentially limits what they can do with the character and interactions.

Not just yet. Thankfully the usb stick I tried to use wasn't formatted to take the size of a 4k video file, so thankfully I couldn't have something awful to watch.
