I'd be as outraged as anyone else if this were true but I think it's getting close to a conspiracy to know that the charges are dropped and then when that's pointed out, say it's 'still in court' conveniently leaving out the fact that the allegations about Rosario aren't actually 'still in court' at all. It's this framing of the discussion that is annoying and it's a ploy often used by the Fox News' of the world and frankly, we're better than that.

I think you'll find it's "only a Sith deals in absolutes" so whilst they are the only ones who deal in them, it is not an exclusive arrangement and does not preclude them from dealing in non-absolutes!

The Rosario allegations are not still in court, the heading remains the same as 2 charges (dealing with her mother - who sounds horrible) have not been dropped.

I'm not commenting on the Dawson allegations.

My comment was purely about the idea that people get pushed to the far right because lefties want people to be nice to people. It's nonsense, those people were already far right.

I used to agree with this until I read a few articles and watched videos of 'ex right' people who fell down the rabbit hole and a few of them pointed out the (admittedly small) mistakes or miss truths of the left that the right weaponizes to great effect. Look at how OUTRAGED people get when CNN/NBC makes a genuine mistake (they always retract them - but it's too late it'll be cut and shared by the thousands) and they harp on about it for days/weeks and any 'normie' viewer can enter the alt right matrix without realizing it.

That's moggy's point though. The people who get outraged at such things are already right wing. If you fall down that rabbit hole, you're not doing so solely because someone on the left made an error you're doing so because you're seeing your own inner worldview referenced and exaggerated.

Yeah it seems like the guy's actual issue is with her mum, rather than Dawson herself(and I think the transphobia stuff has been dropped completely?). From my understanding of it, he specifically asked for the lawsuits against her to be dropped rather than going through with anything so I dunno if that has an impact on the situation. It doesn't necessarily mean there's no truth in the allegations but it is a really murky chain of events by the look of it.

RE: Moggy's point - I'm in full agreement with this.

It's a wider question of philosophy to a degree, do you think Ben Shapiro preaches to the converted and literally no one ever gets persuaded by him?

I'm saying those who get persuaded by him do not start their journey because someone overemphasized allegations of transphobia. Ben Shapiro's audience is not the politically neutral.
