Easter Holidays? :x

I don't know when my easter holiday is or for how long. Where the strawberry float is Killaroo, I bet he'll know. Better be off this week. Last year I got like 3 weeks off. But I think was only meant to have, like, one.

I just found out my friend who had cancer, mentioned him once before here, died last night. :(

What really sucks is that I hadn't had a chance to see him in a while. When I asked if I could come visit him in hospital he said that it would be dangerous for him as he had no immune system and I would be coming by public transit. He seemed pretty hopeful the last time I talked to him too, I mentioned I wanted to go down to Florida and see the shuttle launch and he said he'd come along too, as he thought he'd be better by summer.

Makes me that much more determined to go see it now. Just thinking about it, he was only 23, 2 years older than me. So many more places he could have gone, and seen.

He was also the only other person I knew who had as much obscure knowledge as me. I remember I found out about a site called mechanical turk, run by Amazon, which is basically like what Dangerblade does for AQA, and I struggled to make 50 cents and he was able to make over $100. Also when he told you something, you knew it was right, he was a very logical person.

Losing a friend is so so flipping difficult. But, maybe the fact you expected it makes it slightly...ever so slightly easier to grasp. He sounds like he was positive about life making plans about the future...it always seems to be the best people you lose. PM or msn if you want a chat.

Thanks a lot guys, I think you might be right Huw about it being slightly easier as he was sick.

One thing that I'm now a bit upset about is not checking in to see how he was the last little while. I didn't have his home phone number, and he stopped using his mobile the first time he was interned in the hospital so I would talk to him over msn, the last few weeks he hadn't been on and I wanted to go to his house to at least ask his parents how he was even though I knew if he wasn't online he was probably in the intensive care unit. I had planned to go see him this Saturday, however in the back of my mind I was a bit worried that the news would be bad so I think that might have been the reason I decided not to go.

On the bright there's at least one thing I won't need to feel bad about, the last time I was over at his house he kicked my ass in Halo 3.
