As a newcomer I appreciate the explanation! The idea of sending The Lady, who is as quiet as a mouse’s flatulence, to talk to the neighbours is... :slol:

One of my neighbours plays loud music but I can never tell which ones playing it. As the woman I'm the one who'd have to go sort it out if I could figure out where it came from

That was my exact problem last night (the sound direction one, not the woman one!). It could have been coming from three different flats and I just couldn’t work out where it was actually coming from.

If I ever have enough money then I am buying a detached house miles away from the nearest neighbours.

I’ve taken to pressing my ear up against the sides of the flat (walls and floor). Fortunately the patterns are easy enough to follow: loud chatter and high-pithed laughter is downstairs, half a ‘phone call at half midnight is next door, blazing rows about ‘f**king pr**ks’ are upstairs, and anything with a baseline is upstairs and one flat over.

Stupid thin walls :x

The next house we buy is going to be a taxi ride away from the nearest neighbours.

Jesus christ why cant people just place things in their recycling bins? The noise coming from out the back gardens sounds like someone filling up a glass bottle bin in Wetherspoons. Must be going for 3 point shots from the other side of the garden.

One of the biggest problems with modern housing estates, is that by cramming so many properties in, the planners failed to take into account that a lot of people are anti social dicks.

If i ever move again, the house i choose would have to have a decent amount of distance between it and the neighbours.

As I’ve said before in this thread I have no issues with my neighbours (apart from during freshers week) but since I live in a shared house I tend to have various issues with my housemates.

Right now the guy in the room next to mine can’t seem to sit still. He always seems to be wandering about. While that might not sound like much this a fairly old house and we have some pretty loud creaky floorboards so if I’m trying to sleep and he’s pacing about the place it’s a pain the arse.

I’m really tempted to just ask him why he wanders around so much and can’t just sit down but I don’t want to make a scene.

The other problem right now (which is a bit of a recurring theme) is how messy the kitchen is getting.

I was on my own here for a good four or five months earlier this year and the kitchen was always spotless but now the place is starting to fill up again the kitchen is getting to be a proper state.

We do have a cleaner that comes in once a week but surely it’s not too much to ask that people clean up after themselves is it?

EDIT: Just for balance I’m sure others living here find me annoying at times, particularly since I have a tendency to sing loudly when I’m drunk.

It’s not just being close together but thinner walls allowing sound to travel.

We live in an older ex council house and the walls are Uber thick and all the internal walls are solid. It means putting nails in is a bitch but you get very little sound from around the house, tis also a semi detached so we only have a neighbour on one side and other than their happier type dogs are pretty quiet which is nice.

Neighbour has a heap of other issues making her a pain in the arse
, the current being she doesn’t understand the difference between her roof and my roof so seems to think I’ll may for part of her repair, but at least she is quiet.

Ok place your bets...

It's bin day, and bin-bint's are all right on the start of her path way leading directly to her door. She will have to lean around them to get in.

The question - how many days will they still be there for once she gets home this evening?

Opened my blind yesterday and was presented with the sight of stool bloke back on his throne after 7 months absence, with most of his kit off, but at an angle whereby he was looking directly at me which made getting a pic impossible.

If the chance should arise again, and he's at an angle where i won't get caught, he will return to GRCade.
