My elderly neighbour apologised to me for the noise of the work men doing his bathroom. I literally had no idea that was going on.

I've found out who has been feeding one of my cats. I've kept him in the past few days as he wasn't eating properly and he seemed a bit ill. Let him out, he had a sniff round the drive for a minute then bolted down the road to a house I've previously seen him hanging round. A lady comes out with a bowl of food for him and then proceeds to bullshit about how she doesn't really feed him.

'Oh it's just what's left from a stray cat I feed. It's only been for the past three or four days.' Yeah okay. I've just watched you walk out of your house with a bowl of food and give it to my cat. What's wrong with you? We'll see what the vet says about my cats weight next week and go from there I guess.

Whats with other people feeding pets that are not theirs? Its totally unacceptable, unless there are strong indicators that the current owner(s) have died. But then they should really be contacting authorities etc, not opening an extra can of Whiskers. Even i know that, and I hold animals in far greater regard than humans.

If I ever found out that someone else was feeding my cats, I'd be strawberry floating raging.

That's the risk with cats I guess, if they're off doing their own thing during the day then who knows how the random weirdos of the neighbourhood might be interacting with them :dread:

Next door used to feed this kitten that appeared a few years back. Every day putting food and milk out for it, the one day they stopped but of course the cat still came around expecting it. Now it's an adult, it hangs around their house most of the day expecting food but doesn't get it.

My friend's neighbour has basically adopted his cat and has the cheek to knock the door to ask for more food to feed it. Apparently the cat now lives with the neighbour more often than with my friend but I'll bet money that if the cat falls ill, the neighbour will dump it back on my friend to deal with the vet's bill.

Honestly, I hate it when any of my cats leaves our garden and I can't see what they're up to.

My other new neighbours (not the noisy renovators who seem to have disappeared) stopped me this morning to let me know their will be a skip in front of the house tomorrow and apologised for any inconvenience and also any noise they've been making (the houses aren't connected so I haven't really heard anything). It was nice of them to give me a heads up. I don't drive so it doesn't really affect me but it was still nice to be updated.

Neighbours feeding cat's is a dick move. Cats will go where the food is and will always act like they are starving even if they have just had a banquet to themselves.

A neighbours cat used to keep visiting me. I'd happily sit outside with him but wouldn't dream of letting him in the house or feeding him. My brothers cat went missing for a few days and it turns out one of the neighbours has been feeding her. He hasn't figured out which one, just heard someone say "time to go home" before she reappeared. She's on a strict diet so god knows what being fed by the neighbours will do to her

I haven't seen my cat since Monday. :(

It's not uncommon he goes off wandering for a while, especially in the summer months, but I'm getting concerned now. I hope someone else hasn't 'adopted' him. I do wonder if someone else has started feeding him.

I'd quite like to get a GPS collar to see where he goes. :shifty:

Years ago, I found out that the biddy over the road was feeding my cat. I pointed out to her that, entirely because of her, the cat was crossing the busy road several times a day, so she had to stop it immediately. She got the message. And never spoke to me again. Win-win.

My cat used to disappear for long periods as well since he was a rescue in a flood and nobody ever claimed him. I wouldn't be surprised if half the reason he died from kidney failure was some random feeding him the wrong gooseberry fool.

The only time i've ever fed a neighbour's cat was when degenerate neighbour bloke vanished for 2 weeks and his cat was left outside in freezing temperatures with no one bothering to feed it.

It was a choice of me giving it something, or the poor animal being left to starve.

I think that's fine in that instance. There was no choice there.
