This. It's just the way of the world now.

Same here. It’s really weird.

I live in a block of 12 flats and on Friday night around 11:30 my buzzer went. I picked it up and could here a man rambling at the other side. I could also hear the guy above me picking his buzzer up so assumed it was just a drunk person trying to get in and went back to my bed.

All of a sudden, I hear a loud thud like someone literally trying kick my flat door down (so hard I thought it could've only been Drumstick). But it turned out it was the drunk guy trying to boot the main door entry in. I immediately called 999 and the police took 11 minutes to arrive. In that time he'd managed to get into the stair and was trying to break into another flat. You could hear him screaming from our letterbox. He kept shouting "Robbie!" but there's no Robbies in this block that I was aware of.

Anyway, time passes and as I said above, 11 minutes pass. Cops finally arrive and ask him what he's doing. The woman a block down hangs out her window shouting "ARREST HIM!" I hadn't noticed that he had been throwing stones and had chipped her kitchen window. She had to give the cops details for the criminal damage and breach of the peace charges the twat will now be facing.

Around 4 neighbours were all at their windows given he'd buzzed everyone and so we just had a chat for about 20 minutes after he'd been taken away. Good community spirit fostered after some good old fashioned crime on a Friday night. :slol:

If we pass each other in the stairwell I'll say morning/evening whatever to my neighbours of my building. I don't really know them but whatever!

I can tell when my neighbour is sitting on the other side of the fence because I'm suddenly suffocated by the cloud of rancid perfume that emanates all around her.

We had a similar thing happen in our block last year. Everyone's buzzer was going off, then all of a sudden I could hear someone running up and down in the hallway, so I went out to find a guy I'd never seen before. He'd smashed the glass on the back door open and had gone nuts trying to get into the flats, ringing and knocking doors. He threw a bloody jumper at me and told me to wash it.

My elderly neighbour downstairs caught him on the stairs and screamed at him to keep still till the police arrived (but not before screaming "did you smash that window?" At the guy about 4 times). He was taken away by ambulance in the end after about 30 minutes.

Turned out he hadn't just smashed the back door to our block in, but the 2 blocks on the right of us and the one on the left had theirs smashed in too. No one seems to have any clue who he was, what he wanted or why he was so desperate to get into the flats.

Costa Woman gone missing?

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

I know this is a moan about your neighbours thread but ours are great. We are away for the weekend and accidentally left the bedroom window open. Our neighbours next door text to say they noticed it was open when they themselves were leaving for the weekend so we text our (retired) neighbour opposite to ask if he could keep an eye on it. He text back saying he'd climbed up the garage roof in front of the window with his ladder and using a bit of string had not only managed to close the window from the outside but also lock it

Absolute legend, cheers Derek.

Not technically neighbours but went to the park last night a saw a traveller camp has moved in. Cars driving here there and everywhere means couldn't actually let dog off the lead and let her get sufficient exercise.

Police literally asked things like "are they allowed to be there?" and "how do you know they were travellers?". They literally don't wanna deal with that nonsense and it's frustrating as all hell that I'll now have to find alternatives to go so dog can be safe. Amount of kids who use the park to go school as well will be fun next week if they'll still there.

I'm amazed at how they managed to lock it from the outside, but good to hear a nice story for a change. :toot:

They're retired but still want to put their skills to good, communal use.

£10 says he climbed in through the window, locked it from the inside, helped himself to some biscuits from the biscuit barrel and looked for some of your wife's pants to take before letting himself out the front door.
