Thanks, man. I know at times my flats sound like they're in a war-torn, gangland area but they're generally okay; it's just that one bad apple can quickly make life bad for other residents. Hopefully drugs selling and prostitution will be off the agenda when the next person moves in.

Wow it's such a relief to hear they have left! So happy for you! Just a shame it took so long for them to go!

Thanks very much, OneFFF! You're right... I genuinely feel a sense of relief. I'm not counting any chickens yet but I've slept better these past two nights than I have for months.

Good to hear!
It's like me, ever since I got both the sound proofing secondary windows and the independent ceiling installed my quality of life in my flat has improved ten fold. Although it seems like that was absolutely nothing compared to your situation with criminals outside causing trouble too as well as the noise.
Anyway here to happy times :)

It's a nice warm sunny day today, so bonfire wanker decided to blanket the entire estate in thick choking smoke yet again (he did it yesterday too).

*takes a deep breath*

Aaaaaaah, lovely.

Now that sounds to be quite a character, Vermi! Did it go on all afternoon?

We had a fire here today, too. Someone put a lighted cigarette into our communal waste bins and, within moments, we had flames and lots of smoke. Thankfully a resident spotted it early; calling the fire brigade and then using a hose to help minimise the flaming. The fire brigade arrived quickly and hosed down the whole bin area. Another resident and I then spent an hour or so clearing up all the rubbish and siphoning out the water.

I'm gonna call the culprit "cigarette wanker" as I like Vermi's style  .

Do you pay a service charge for your property?

Yeah... I'm a director of the flat committee!

I'm not saying you will, but... *please* don't say "well someone should sort out (situation x) as I pay money"! .

EDIT: This wasn't meant to come across as grumpy; it's just that many residents seem to think that because they pay a service charge, any and all incidents should have someone immediately on hand to resolve it  .

It started yesterday, was relit this morning, and went on until late afternoon.

It's far enough away that i can't tell which house is doing it, but close enough so that it blankets the entire area (especially when i'm downwind of it which is most of the time).

Wow, that's pretty dramatic stuff, glad to hear it didn't get any worse than it did.

Cigarette wanker is definitely a suitable name for that one.

Fat Karen's (no.5) animal scarer has gone completely mental, it's now emitting a non stop high pitched scream and it's driving me nuts!

It's still going on too, if it wasn't for the fact that i'd likely get into trouble, the damn thing would have been destroyed by now.

...and that just made me sound even worse.

New neighbours are just moving in.

I know that it's wrong to judge by appearances, but... hmmn. Will wait and see.

While we're on this subject, this summer here has generally been quieter than previous years.

Stool Bloke's departure has made a huge difference overall, and surprisingly, it appears that Degenerate Neighbour Bloke has quietly moved out too.

His mum is still next door, but he himself seems to have gone, and thus, while bonfire wanker and karen the karen are still hanging around like a bad smell, things have generally become a little more peaceful this year.

Oh and seeing the drunken skank's (the one with that terrible laugh at the 2020 carbecue VE Day piss up) husband at no.3 get hauled off by 4 burly policemen and put in the back of a cop car was hugely satisfying last week too (he's not shown up again since either, so he may have ended up in the big house).
