No skanks this evening, just endless super noisy lawnmowers instead.

Once again, my street is super peaceful today...

Also, while i hadn't intended to post any more pics for the time being, the state of stool bloke's drive today has to be seen to be believed. :dread:

Jesus. It reminds me of when we had to clear out dad's house - he was a hoarder and a double length garage (well and the whole house) was to the top with gooseberry fool like that. We even found a dead cat in there which had mummified :dread:

I seem to have been VERY very lucky with neighbours. Ever since I moved out on my own I've never had a single issue, even when I was living with family all our neighbours were pretty great.

Disappointed that the go-kart doesn't have a VW sticker on it.

After some advice on how to deal with noisy neighbours...
My flatmate just told me the lady in the flat above us who has her bedroom above his was so noisy last night at 3am. He could hear their voices and sounds of drawers/cupboards being opened. I guess the floorboards she has transmits the vibration of sound to his room. My solution for when I can't be bothered going and knocking on someones door is to get Siri to blast white noise from my HomePod which gets rid of annoying sounds and allows me to sleep.

Anyway is this seriously what people who live in flats like myself have to deal with and constantly knock on the doors of neighbours? I just feel kinda awkward having to do it and also feel awkward for them to have to be quiet in their own homes. UK building quality :fp:

If I speak to her the only thing I can think of saying is to advise her to install a thick rug underneath her furniture or get those adhesive foam pads that normal people use on furniture to stop floorboards from being scratched...I am sure these tiny foam pads will dampen the sounds. Should I even go to amazon and order her some as a gesture of good will or will that come across as very negative or patronising?

It's not a "UK building quality" problem, it's just a general issue with close accommodation.

Not sure how this is such a surprise to you, it's a pretty well known situation - hell pretty much every TV sitcom has a story line about noisy neighbours or "ceiling bangers"

Thanks for those articles. Looks interesting and will have a read tonight.

Well Ive only ever stayed in new builds in the UK or flats that have concrete floors like my auntie's flat in Hong Kong. So have never heard neighbours and thought all were the same if built as flats...as in not normal houses turned into flats which you get a lot of these days.

I don't recall staying over at a terrace before but going to my sisters and my cousins terraced houses I have never heard their neighbours either. But again this is during the day in their living rooms not bedrooms.
