Cats are such a lazy bastards pet. I accept there are house cats and the owners look after them properly, but as has been said, why is it acceptable to get a pet that spends most of its time roaming through other people's gardens shitting everywhere?

Imagine if I did that with my dog. Feed it in the morning and then just let it out to spend the day running through people's property shitting all over the place

Get your own cat to defend your garden. Problem solved. 8-)

Cats are classed as wild animals.

Serious response put citrus around your fences, cats don't like it and won't come in. You can also get little devices that emit a sound if a cat comes close and it'll make it not want to come in.

Cats in the vast majority of circumstances will clean up after themselves.

Really? As in they pick the gooseberry fool up and move it? I had no idea

They don't dare come in our garden in the day time as the dog chases them off. He really doesn't like cats, we've never encouraged it, but he always barks at them and chases them off the fences. I always thought it was a cartoon thing but it turns out that he really doesn't like cats.

Cats are classed as wild animals.

They're classed as banana splits.

I appreciate that the law has an exception for cats giving them the right to roam, but it's basically bullshit. If you are the owner of the cat you should be responsible for it shitting everywhere, particularly as cat excrement is home to parasites that are harmful to humans.

They usually go in dirt and cover it over - as someone who's had cats his entire life and before I moved out of essex they always went outside I know :D

They might be shitting in your garden as an aggressive move against the dog for him barking at them. Just get the anti-cat measures which will stop them coming in in the first place in a non harmful way.

I let my cat gooseberry fool in my garden and then I chuck the gooseberry fool over my neighbours fence.

AITA?

If you're neighbour is anything like some of the other strawberry floaters on this thread then I think it's justifiable. ;)

To be fair I think they would only typically do this in their own garden as they don't want to piss off the dominant cat with their scent, i.e. you. In anyone else's garden, particularly if they think it's part of their territory, they probably won't cover it up.

At the same time, just chill out guys, cats are fine.

Cats are not stupid, unlike Dogs who will eat their own gooseberry fool for some reason.

My neighbour walks her cat. On a lead. Round the buildings a couple of times a day for it to do its business.

water pistol better. also gives you an excuse (if you needed one!) to fire a water pistol as an adult
