You've hit the nail on the head with "anticipation". It's probably more anxiety-enducing that the actual droning.

The noise itself is akin to a car sitting outside with its engine on. Not even remotely offensive but imagine it just rocked up and sat there for 2 hours a day, every day. It's a real first world problem to people who are not putting up with it.

I am lucky in that I never hear parties or loud music etc I guess hence my nervousness to move. If it was affecting my sleep I think it'd be 100x worse than it is.

My face when seeing neighbour-bloke's car parked outside the flats and the boot open, with neighbour-bloke walking into the flat:    :x :( ?!?!?!?

My face when realising he seems to be clearing stuff out of the flat rather than moving back: :D :D :D :toot: :toot: :toot: .

Where do you live, Jawa? Sounds like you can't move for underclass scum.

Okay, he's filled his car up with stuff and driven off... but another person is still in the flat and there is currently loud "things being moved" noise. I assume he'll be back to collect more stuff.

They must have all moved out, right?

Nervous times. I don't want any plot twists.

Blue Eyes wrote:Where do you live, Jawa? Sounds like you can't move for underclass scum.

The suburbs of south-east London. Housing is pretty expensive... but it's a noisy, busy, dirty place that houses plenty of sweary, aggressive people.

Fake edit: Why the strawberry-float do I have so many odd neighbours? A girl moved out months ago and yet, a few times every week, she drives back into the (private) car park and meets this guy who also drives in. They are there for a while, swap stuff in bags and then both drove off again. And the guy *always* leaves a Costa coffee cup laying in the car park.*

* I know I sound like a nosey neighbour but, man, there are a bunch of weirdos around here.**
** Perhaps I am also a weirdo without realising it :o :( .

WTF?!?!?

Neighbour-bloke has driven back... and the car is full up with stuff  .

Genuinely can't handle this. They HAVE to be going rather than returning.

Neighbour-bloke and neighbour-girl have both now driven off with their car loaded up. They must be clearing stuff from the flat... their final act before they're gone forever. I hope.

Gonna quickly look downstairs to check if any rubbish / furniture has been dumped.

It sounds like they have maybe merely swapped the lease with someone they know, or they just came back to check something or do cleaning.

Nothing appears to have been left :D .

Yeah, I think that they're just collecting the remainder of their stuff for taking over to their new place.

I *like* that idea! A means of closing my living area off from all other people :toot: .

I've been super-anxious over the past few hours, thinking that they may have been returning. Hopefully my concern is unfounded. Gotta go out in a bit but will keep my eyes and ears open.

Must be nice to be finally rid of them.

Now if only loser bloke next door here were to do the same and bugger off, seem to spend most of the day now having to listen to his whirring tumble drier.

That’s ok then. Leave Pumpkin Carving Bloke alone.

Where is stool bloke? We haven't had an update since before Christmas...

Also fingers crossed they're gone for good jawa!

I have no idea what Chinese bloke above me is doing, the past few weeks I keep hearing a drill going followed by a bit of banging. I think his flat must be full of shelves.

Ludo is gooseberry fool!
