In this scenario Squinty is the subhuman scum neighbour.

The next door neighbours seem to have taken to throwing their recycling in the box rather than placing it in there :?

You hear the back door open and then a massive pub level clatter and smash sound as several bottles are chucked in. It goes right through the house too.

Our bin folk won’t take glass if it’s broken, we have a separate glass box from the green bin so they can be sure.

Our bin men haven't been for a good while now. We have communal bins (I'm on an estate) and they're overflowing at the moment.

When I first moved in the old git downstairs went though the bins a lot. He hadn't lost anything or accidentally thrown anything away, he was just being nosy and seemingly enjoying opening up the black bags and seeing what crap was inside them.

The emergence of this new utilisation of "lad" has got to be one of the worst developments in the English language since the sad decline of the excellent word "vestibule".

Anyone who uses the term lad under this new meaning should be severely punished.

Anyone who self defines as a "lad" should be terminated immediately.

I don't get the point of setting them off in the day when you can't see them, on a council estate where there's no room to set them off...

Got a letter through the door from someone in my area/street inviting me to join the local instance of "nextdoor.co.uk". From what I can see it looks like some kind of social network for your neighbourhood.

So what do we think:

* Nice gesture to join a group to chat about local events and promote friendliness and cohesion within the neighbourhood?

* Sinister trap door leading to the local swingers club and/or satanic cult?
