Do you have firedoors? If it's rental, they might be a requirement. They strawberry floating suck.

We do, even in a building c. 1915, and they seem to be the original doors as well which is really unusual.

I.e. they were council/working class terrace houses, must be safe. They're good houses, though, bricks and everything :simper:

Now worth about £300k to £400k each, £1050pcm and that's a good rent :dread:

In this country we have a little thing called work. If you work hard you won't have to rent.

I legit love COVID as I am renting and now I don't need to pay out for the damn train. I just have the pleasure of paying off someones personal investment. :simper:

Don't rent then. In this country we have a thing called mortgages.

Sorry ad7, but I am being selfless yeah?! They clearly could not afford to pay for this place so I am doing it for them.

Closing doors properly should be a compulsory subject in the national curriculum.

I poured myself a beer...I sat down in the garden...I take my first sip...AHH, BlISS. About 30 seconds pass. A head appears over the fence from MILES* away. "LOVELY DAY, ISN'T IT!"

Oh God, it's overtly happy dancing gay San Francisco bloke.

"Oh what a feeling! WOOOOO! Dancing on the ceiling! WOOO! 1, 2, 3, 4....Great day to exercise, dontcha think?"

No. No I don't.

"It's like this everyday in Hollywood! They wanna make it in the neighbourhood...they like the smell of it in Hollywood!"

I didn't think people like this existed in real life. I WAS WRONG. There's literally no music on. Why are you dancing around for?!

Yeah they are new builds and will automatically slam shut. A pain in the arse by all accounts.

You don't hear them all day then you hear the doors at night which I presume they are shielding the kids from hearing their tv in bed etc... but surely waking them up not closing doors gently.

I assume people that aggressively happy are a minor irritation away from completely snapping, as if they are fighting away the abyss:

For those saying I moan about DIY in the day too much

This has not been all day to be fair, but a mixture of that and hammering.

That bird table :dread:  Also the garden has gone wild.

4th or 5th evening in a row that my neighbours have had a big family/friends gathering in their garden. They've spent every evening with completely different people and I swear if they catch coronavirus they'll be solely responsible for a local outbreak

When we moved into our house last year the previous owner left a massive pile of logs in the corner of the garden, I've been planning to cut them down into firewood for ages and today I finally had the chance!

Spent about an hour sawing through a whole load of it with my new chainsaw, it was tough going especially in this heat as some of this gooseberry fool had clearly been say there for years and was tougher than vindalooed mutton!

Yep, sorry to say that today I was DIY split! :datass:
