OMG NETWORK WAS INCREDIBLE. BUZZING.

Genuinely that has to be the best acting I have see in a play. It wasn’t just Cranston who was on top form (and I mean top form), the lady from Downtown Abbey (forgot her name) as well as the other mains smashed it.

It was a such a unique and surreal experience. From the restaurant where you could actuallly sit on stage and eat a meal to participating in the show, it was just a joy from start to finish.

Phenomenal, I can’t say enough good things about it.

Went to go see The Exorcist at the Phoenix Theatre today, damn good show, made me jump a few times! The effects were really good and all the actors were great

I've listened to Hamilton's soundtrack more times than I care to count. I'm dying to see it on stage, but I don't have that kind of money!

Have you got the app for the lottery entries? £10 tickets through there if you’re lucky enough to get one (and if you’re close to London). It’s a fantastic show to see live

Oh yeah I've seen the lottery, sadly it's a fair trek from Manchester. Even with luck on my side, there's still the matter of petrol and a hotel on a day's notice, to say nothing of getting the day off work.

Still, I'm hoping to go to New York in the summer, so maybe then?

The nominations are out for the Olivier awards, if anyone's interested. As expected, Hamilton's already breaking records (13 nominations - Suck it, Harry Potter)

If anyone other than Jason Pennycooke wins best Supporting Actor I'll riot.

AVENUE Q IS TOURING AGAIN

I ended up caving and buying tickets for Hamilton, seeing as I was already in London with a free schedule. It's every bit as brilliant as I hoped it would be. The choreography with the spinning stage was incredible, the soundtrack really doesn't do it justice.

Honestly tempted to shell out for Broadway tickets in August...

The choreography is something else. There's a lot of humour in the directing that you miss on the soundtrack, too. King George

Ive only heard bits of the soundtrack so I'm going in pretty fresh. Looking forward to it. My daughter is incredibly excited to see it. She adores it.

My girlfriend was the same - She'd only heard the bits that I'd sent her/played in the car (so, the opening number, and the Satisfied/Helpless scene), and she loved it. Still listens to nothing but Satisfied on repeat (with the ocassional Dear Theodosia from the Hamilton Mixtape), but hopefully she'll move onto the rest of the soundtrack soon.

One of my friends has just shown me this, too, figured I might as well post it in here instead of the Currently Listening thread:



Jeremy Jordan (credited as being from "Supergirl", but he's a big musical theatre performer too), doing She Used to Be Mine from Waitress from the MisCast gala (basically performers singing songs from roles that they'd never be considered for). He's got such a good voice. I think it loses something by not being sung by a woman considering the subject, but it's so good.

He's done Let It Go before, too and he hits the high note at the end

My girlfriend was the same again- She new the first one and My Shot, as well as the snippets from Nick Pitera's medley, and she loved it too. She did a module at uni on old-school hip-hop and rap, so she got a real kick out of all the references to Grandmaster Flash and the like.

She's been playing all the Thomas Jefferson songs non-stop since we saw it. Not that I'm complaining, Pennycooke is the dictionary definition of a show stealer.

Pennycooke is genuinely fantastic, maybe the best thing about the West End cast. My friend saw it earlier this week and had Waylon (the guy who usually plays James Reynolds) as Lafayette/Jefferson, which must be really strange.

Oh wow, that must have been odd. I mean, the guy was great and all, but I really can't picture him as those two.

I loved it. Great setting, fantastic music and choreography. Wonderful inventive and clever lyrics and a superb cast. Stunning production. Can’t recommend it highly enough.
Jefferson and King George were scene stealers.
My daughter was just enraptured. Lots of brownie points for me.

That's pretty insane, and there's us grumbling that ticket prices are unreasonable over here



Whole performance of the opening number from the Oliviers the other day. It's good to get a high quality recording of what the London cast sounds like Giles as Burr seems to really split opinions.

Still shocked that Jibson won best supporting actor instead of Pennycooke.

In non-Hamilton related theatre news - Kinky Boots is touring! Kicking off in Northampton (where else?) in September. Will definitely be getting tickets for when it comes to Birmingham

Give it a few years and see it then. I'm planning a new York theatre trip but it will be to the Opera.
