Watched the 4th episode last night and it just gets better.

I'm really into it now so I'm just waiting for Netflix to announce the show is going to be cancelled.

Watching episode 4 now and I agree, its just getting better. Some great performances in this too.

No announcement on a second series just yet but...

I might have to watch it then, not familiar with the source material though so don't know what to expect.

Probably not yet though as I'm in a bit of an anime binge phase at the moment, currently watching some of the 'classics' I missed out on (I'm still a relative noob to the medium), some of which are over 150 episodes long so it might be a while.

Been thinking this for a while tbh. Years ago most of their productions were really, really good. Now not so much, they put out the odd strong TV series now and again but that's it.

Absolutely - Narcos, Ozark, Mindhunter, so many good shows. Their latest efforts just look, by and large, a bit crap.

Watching episode 5 of The Sandman now, considering this has just been set in a diner so far its been fantastic. Get the feeling that the Ruby isn’t going to be a good thing in the wrong hands

Edit, just finished episode 5, that was my favourite episode so far.

They keep cancelling all their good shows which doesn't help.

I find it amazing how some of their shows have been scrapped when they were so damn good.

I'm thinking Anne with an E in particular.

The money they’ve been throwing at their content isn’t the issue, it’s the quality. They’re not one and the same.

I thought eps 5 and 6 were back to back bangers. Ep5, as a sort of pseudo-Bottle episode in particular was brilliant.

If you are talking about any drama series, then it absolutely is. They are very, very expensive. I agree with you on some counts that the quality isn't what it was. However to me, its obvious that the main driver of that is cash.

I really didn't imagine the series would be such a direct adaptation of each individual issue. There's surely no way they could keep that going for the entire run! First couple of episodes suffered as a result of that I think, as well as from sharing the homogenised style of Netflix dramas released in the last few years that are produced in Britain, but from episode three onwards it's been great.

I have cancelled Netflix this morning (I have been a subscriber for 4 years or so I guess).

The content they are commissioning just seems less and less of interest to me. Better Call Saul finishing seemed like the closing of a chapter in Netflix quality perception for me (The Breaking Bad - Better Call Saul "Golden era").

If they bring back Glow I would resub though. Loved that programme.

For now though I am finding some much more interesting stuff on Apple+ (which I would never have considered were it not for a 6 month trial with PS5).

Hell, Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul aren't even Netflix shows!

Really? I genuinely thought Breaking Bad was it's flagship show.

Made by AMC. We don't have that channel here, so Netflix bought the rights.

Both made by AMC. Breaking Bad only started to appear on Netflix from season four in the US and arguably saved it from cancellation but as far as I know it never had any direct involvement in its production (it used to air on FX and Channel 5 for a time over here).

Outside of the US Better Call Saul has only ever been available on Netflix but again it was commissioned by AMC.

In terms of flagship Netflix programmes, I'd say that was House of Cards and Orange is the New Black to start with, then eventually Stranger Things.
