Week 3 down and doing good, but I need to eat more. I'm losing weight, which is nice but unintended and its starting to effect my energy. Really struggled on a hill treadmill session today despite it being about the same as Tuesday which I could finish, although the fact I've just teetered over the speed threshold from a fast walk to a run doesn't help. Really happy with how things going, mind.

Well done guys :) I'm 3 weeks into the current cut. PB'd my rowing HIIT today. Since I started doing it I've got my time down from 22:17 to 18:34 which I'm chuffed to bits with in terms of improvement over the last 6 months or so. Days off Sat and Sun then a long run on Monday to get into week 4 :)

So week one for me is over, today I felt I would try and up the weight on the back squats by 10kg and managed so I am pleased with that. Also increased the deadlift weight a tiny amount - I don't want to start increasing the weight only to find that I do not have the correct form ( I am trying to keep my back flat but it looks like it is rounding at the very base :/ )

Also increased the weight in the barbell bench by 2kg each arm. Small changes but at is all going the right way.

Biggest thing I am disappointing with is the lack of cardio I have been doing. I think I will have to adjust my routine a wee bit as I am not doing nearly enough ( only managing 5- 10 mins after doing a weights session - due to time constraints )

Sorry if this kind post is blog like but I think if I post my marginal gains here then it will keep me focused. :)

This post is exempt from the No Context Thread.

Back to Parkrun (5km) for me tomorrow morning. Aiming to get under 27 minutes this time.

I've also got a boxing PT session at 11. Might not be the smartest idea in the world :shifty:.

I need to stop coming in here is just depressing me. We're all about the blog posts kezzer; either set up your camera when deadlifting and we could point out mistakes to you or ask one of the seasoned lifters in the gym to watch and offer pointers. Sure they'll be happy to help. Crucial to get good form on the deadlift from the off.

May as well post an update since I'm on here.
12 rep max on dead-lifts up to 140kg
12 rep max on squats up to 100kg
12 rep max on bench is sadly stuck at 65kg
Weighted dips up to 15kg

Thinking about changing up my routine. I want to find a good plan though.

12 reps on 65 isnt bad at all, compared to your other lifts FE, dont worry about it!

I would recommend dropping the reps for deadlift now you're are getting to heavier weights. Give 5 reps at 160kg a go and see how you get on. Deadlift IMO really is the one exercise that benefits most from heavy weight low reps rather than lighter weight high reps.

I don't know I still found that when hitting split reps for 30 at 160kg my upper back and body as a whole looked more solid and muscular than when I was pulling 3x6 reps at over 200.

That would make sense with hypertrophy being linked to time under tension, so with the vast difference I'm not surprised by that.

My ankles aren't liking these hill runs and were still complaining today on a flat run. Damn, need to take it a bit easy it seems.

I'm the opposite. I get softer than when I'm pulling heavy triples. Made of concrete when I'm in a heavy phase.
