Yep.
I think they should implement some form of transfer tax system where maybe 1 or 2% of any transfer fee paid in the premier league is then put into a pot for the lower leagues. This wouldn't be a huge burden on the premier league and given prices at the moment would raise a fair bit of money.
They could even ringfence it and say the money can only be used for facilities, youth teams or backroom staff as those always get forgotten about amid the glitz of the players.

Macclesfield lost millions as a club over the past few years but the owners ran out of patience funding the club. It wouldn't be as simple as throwing £500k into the club. I agree something should be done to help clubs with money from higher up the pyramid but all of footballs financials are all over the place. It's a big problem.

I feel the players need to take some responsibility and be a bit more realistic when it comes to wages.

At the moment even championship clubs are on the brink.

How many employees in other sectors would be willing to take pay cuts?

I can't imagine Macclesfield players were earning much.

Edit:

I don't know how accurate this is, but the average wage at Macclesfield was £756 a week.

Not a bad wage of course (£40k ish a year) but not bad in the world of football. And for such a short career it's peanuts.

Stats were in Portsmouth's favour, guessing they didn't play up?

Indeed. You're going to absolutely spank us on Sky in a few days. Something to look forward to all round.

I wasn't going to say anything. Happy enough though considering it's a line up of players that I don't expect to feature much this season.

One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

2 wins in 2 games for Luton, not bad at all.
Looking good for a solid, upper mid table finish with maybe a sniff at the play-offs.

Pretty good considering the lack of funds they had for new players.

Wycombe gaffer is a big, big Rovers man, he definitely told his lads to take a dive. I genuinely can't remember the last time we put five past someone, or a Rovers player scored a league hat trick.
