I thought we played well last night, and were able to cope with pretty much everything Barsnley threw at us. They don't seem to have a huge amount of individual quality so if the brute force approach they take doesn't work, their ideas are limited. The tie is far from other obviously, but I'm reasonably confident for the home leg with a 1-0 lead.

What I'm not confident about is beating Bournemouth or Brentford. Thought both teams looked very good yesterday. Sharp, quick football, always looking to attack. If we get there who knows though, anything in happen in 90 minutes and we have players like Ayew or Lowe who are more than capable of individual moments of brilliance.

Obviously much better to play a Bournemouth or Brentford in a one-off game, but they do both look better than us. It's been another weird season. At our best, I think we're as good as anyone, but we've not been at our best enough. I just don't feel like we have that same swagger we had 10 years ago where it felt like we completely deserved to go up, but it wouldn't be some huge upset if we did either.

Nice one Lincoln. Good to see the 3 loan & ex NFFC lads get to Wembley (Bridcutt, Grant & Johnson). Hope they get promoted over Blackpool.

Can’t believe Sunderland face a 4th season in L1 though. Surely Wyke will go and how much longer can McGeady and Leadbitter play? They seem to have round for yonks

I was sorry for Sunderland as I was hoping they'd come back up but I'll also admit to letting a loud "get it strawberry floating up ye" rip out of me when I saw McGeady looking upset on the screen.

Tomous

Think Fulton got unlucky there, landing on the other bloke's foot and getting taken for a ride, which at first glance made it look like he'd gone in for a horrendous challenge.

Guy ran infront of him and his ankle caught him. Complete accident, ridiculous to get sent off for that.

We probably weren't going to win anyway but frustrating how game has been killed.

Wasn’t a red but this is poor from Swansea.

The set piece deliveries without Hourihane have been god awful.

Doesn't feel so bad as just like last year it always felt like 'we'd done well to get here'. I think you have to praise the job Cooper has done getting everything out of the squad, but at the same time, the plan is always just try and defend well and they see if you can get lucky going forward. If we'd gone up, there's no doubt in my mind we'd have been straight back down, but Brentford feel like they can comfortably be next season's Leeds.

Brentford were definitely the better team, in the game and over the course of the season.

Still hurts though.

Missed the game as my girlfriend has taken me away for my birthday weekend. All planned before way before the playoffs were in my mind so I was actually at Monkey World when the game was on

Turned my phone off so I didn't keep checking the score so only looked at it at full time. Sounds like a disappointing game, but kinda glad I missed it. Still gutted obviously.

Fair play to Brentford they've been up there for the last two seasons even when they lose their best players each season.

Tough season coming up for the swans with loans going and some key players probably leaving. But at least I can still enjoy the football league thread next season

Unlucky Swans. Just have to win the Championship next season.

Check out my YouTube channel!
One man should not have this much power in this game. Luckily I'm not an ordinary man.

Urgh, can’t believe I’m gonna have to see Tomas Frank chewing gum open mouthed on MOTD and spouting bollocks about how the opposition didn’t deserve the point or win whenever the xG experts don’t win

We're almost in July and we don't yet know who was relegated.

Seems like the EFL is really pushing for the points deduction to be applied retrospectively :dread:.

They really want shot of Derby from the Championship, don't they. Feel a bit sorry for Wycombe, this situation must be really strawberry floating with their prep for the new season.
