Good news Derby look like continuing to exist. May be less good news about their owners credentials and motive.

But for now you’ve got to take what you can get. I saw Kirchner’s post about he will start funding club next week as paperwork is now being approved or something.

Is it bad form to have a few hundred quid on Huddersfield to be promoted? Just to lighten the blow should the worst happen? :shifty:

A toffee friend of mine puts money on Liverpool to win the UCL almost every year to make himself feel better. And in the 18/19 season I kept rolling over a bet on City to win, and keep winning they did. I used the money towards my flight to the Madrid final though.

So, yes I think hedging a bet against sadness is fine, just don't go crazy.

We should migrate GRcade to Flarum. :toot:

A few hundred?!

Maybe £50 at the most, otherwise if my team won I'd still feel like gooseberry fool having lost that much

I mean, if someone said to me I could pay £500 right now to guarantee Forest to win, I'd probably go for it.

A few hundred?! How rich are you .

I've done it before, but not to that extent. The most ridiculous was the time I put £20 on you to beat us and we went on to win 5-0 .

Wow, given inflation and how long it's been since you beat us then I'd imagine that £20 is probably worth much more now. ;)

I should clarify I don't normally bet crazy amounts like that. It's the magnitude of the occasion. Winning a tenner is not going to make me feel any better when Forest lose in a playoff final.

Might keep the electricity running for a few hours at least :dread:.

Obviously if you can afford it then by all means do what you need to, but by "a few hundred" I assume you're talking something like £300-400, which sounds nuts to me during a cost of living crisis and the fact you are pretty heavy favourites to win .

If we play like we did last night we won’t get close to winning.
Hope the big pitch helps us exploit space

Also, it’s the Blunderland Trafalgar Square takeover again tonight. I’m fully expecting ‘hilarious’ videos of people shitting/vomiting/pissing into the fountain, those god-awful flares that are all the rage, and loads of arrests.

A perfect time for MK to drop the "Dons" part of their name and go with "Milton Keynes City".

No more Donny Rovers, now Doncaster City FC :toot:

It really wouldn’t surprise me if they had a rebrand.

It's always better to be City rather than Rovers.

Nervous now. Didn't get a ticket.

Just a reminder Sunderland's playoffs record is so bad, the only time we were promoted through them we actually lost in the final, but then Swindon were denied promotion owing to 'financial irregularities'. Not sure that's likely this time.

Things can change. We didn't win anything at Wembley after 1973, until we won the pizza trophy.
