You have so many teams, it's impossible to tell who you are talking about.

By the sounds of it Cooper is off. I thought after the Palace and Fulham jobs had been filled then the 'will he won't he' was over. But seemingly not!

Interested to see who we get in, but did we have to leave it until about two weeks before the season starts??

I know he had his critics but given the club's circumstances I think Cooper did a fantastic job!

Confirmed by club now.

Not great timing at all.

Odd one. You'd think reaching successive play-offs would be a good platform to go one better this season. Perhaps he's fallen out with he club?

The timing is the absolute pits though. If this was in the works the club should've taken swift action IMO.

It's a bit of a weird situation as he definitely dragged us up way higher than the squad should have been for two years in a row, but at the same time we were never ever going to get promoted playing that way of grinding out results instead of being an actually good football side. Then when you look at the amount of loan signings, it was like starting over each season, so hard to build momentum. I've no doubt we'll finish much lower this season without him, but maybe we could start building something again. Still not hopeful of that with these owners though.

It's approaching August and we've still only got 9 players .

Make them an offer. You could play Goalkeeper with your dodgy knee.

I think he wanted to leave to be honest. There are rumours the club were annoyed about him applying for every open job going.

Apparently it was agreed a few weeks ago but Cooper agreed to stay abit longer to help the club with preseason. With that in mind, I'm expecting an appointment soon.

Joey Barton charged with assaulting his wife. He's currently awaiting trial for a different assault.

I'm no Rovers fan, but what the strawberry float were they thinking when they appointed Barton? :fp:

Some football teams dont have standards which makes players with dodgy backgrounds but who are actually fairly good on the pitch appealing. Barton is quite a good football manager for their level, but yeah...so much baggage!

I just imagine the Rovers boardroom went like this:

"So...Joey Barton needs a job? What do we think?"

"Well, he has a history of violence and is currently awaiting trial for assault. Oh and he once stubbed a lit cigar in a teammate's eye..."

"Sounds perfect!"

Joey Barton is accused of beating up his wife and the case will be going to trial.

I thought he was going by "Joseph" these days as part of his image rehabilitation (which is going staggeringly well, obviously).
