I'm pretty thrilled by how the season has started for us, I predict we will dropp of but I would love to see us maintain a sustained run at those playoffs.

Thinks do look pretty good at the moment. I don't think we're going to get in the play offs though, especially as there's a load of teams with games in hand. Anything top table would be good though.

All I want from this year's Champions League is for PSG to go out in the first league stage.
It would be strawberry floating hilarious to watch them spend all that money on wages and continue to fail to win the only trophy they care about.

Well they made a bastard of it tonight against the might of Jack Hendry, but I’m not sure what it’s got to do with this season’s football league! :slol:

Been saying that myself for a few weeks now.

I was there last night and walked out as the 2nd goal went in. So uninspired to watch. That's 4 home defeats on the spin this season. I go in the hope of something happening but with the expectation that nothing will.

Well no more until CH has gone. I'm not driving 75 miles round trip to watch that dross anymore. Seriously came close to shredding my season cards last night but didn't in the hope that whoever does come in next, at least has us looking like we might actually do something in a game.

At 1-0 down, we were passing the ball along the back 4 and back to the keeper for about 20 consecutive passes. No forward passes over the halfway line during that period. We were ole-ing ironically but it didn't get the message through.

The whole club is a mess and something is afoot behind the scenes I reckon.

I'll still support them as they're my team. But from afar for now.

In other news, Derby are close to agreeing their 9pts deduction by all accounts. How does that work then that they get to agree their own penalty as opposed to every other club who have just been told what their punishment is? What makes DCFC so special?

Tip of the iceberg. It's groundhog day at the City Ground and will continue to be so for years to come.

I did wonder about the ole-ing  from memory I'm sure it ended by you winning a free kick just outside their box, though? (Yes, I did watch the whole game on the red button :slol:)

It sounds like you might not be able to sack him because it'll cost £2m and that's simply not possible without putting yourself in FFP trouble. Not a good situation to be in at all. If you lose to Huddersfield at the weekend you equal your worst ever start to a season. Coincidentally, it was Huddersfield you took a point off during the 1913-14 season when you set that record!

Re our penalty, who knows, probably just the usual legal wrangling based on precedent and proportion. I doubt we could even come close to overturning 3-6 points, let alone 9 so it hardly seems worth even bothering to battle it down from 12, but I guess it would be negligent to not do everything possible in mitigation.

I will continue to cling to the glimmer of hope that the embargo will be lifted in time for January, Bielik makes a glorious return and Rooney can bring in some hotshot loans from the Manchester United u23s, or something like that. Certainly I remain pro-Rooney and even when if we get relegated I will be keen for him to keep the reins for next season.

EDIT - my #ITK theory was busted while I was typing it!

Turns out it's not due to be resolved any time soon after all .

The EFL wrote:In response to ongoing media speculation, the EFL wishes to clarify that discussions with Derby County in respect of outstanding Profitability and Sustainability (P&S) matters are continuing and no decision has yet been reached.

On 2 July 2021, an Independent Disciplinary Commission found in favour of the EFL in respect of its challenge to the Club’s policy on amortising player registrations. The Club received a £100,000 financial penalty, a reprimand as to its future behaviour and ordered to submit revised accounts for the years ended 30 June 2016, 2017, and 2018.

In an attempt to resolve all remaining issues with the EFL in regard to its P&S submissions the Club provided the EFL with information prior to last month’s deadline and this remains under review by the League’s Executive.

In any disciplinary matter, the EFL will always consider whether it can be concluded by way of an Agreed Decision as per EFL Regulation 85. An Agreed Decision, which is subject to independent ratification, is deemed appropriate in circumstances which justify the conclusion of an effective and equitable resolution without a referral to a Disciplinary Commission.

There are no timescales for this matter to be concluded and the League will not be providing any further comment at this time.

What are the odds this drags on even beyond the January window, just to strawberry float us over even more!

Roy Keane also linked with rumours he’s been told “it’s yours if you want it”

What a mess

In other news, Matty Cash was there last night too apparently

Such a likable guy. Always had nothing but good things to say about Forest when he left. Can't blame him from moving on from this shitheap.

Yeah, agreed. Even though he went to AVFC (for whom my feelings are well known on this forum), I track his performances and hope he gets to get on even further in his career and maybe get international caps (probably for Poland rather than England though).

I met him a few times after games when he played for us and he was so happy to chat with the fans and pose for photos. My kids met him loads too and he was one of their favourites too

Apparently as part of the agreement for Cooper's departure, Swansea negotiated that they would be entitled to a fee if Cooper found a new job within 12 months.

Sounds like the sort of thing we'd happily do. After all, wasting money hiring and firing (edit: 19 managers in 11 years), is what we do! :fp:
