West Brom implementing a flat back five and a strategy of sitting behind the ball to defend a 1-0 lead a quarter of the way into the tie is encouraging me to get behind Villa here.

Phew! Made very hard work of that, but still got the win. Fingers crossed we can finish the job oh Tuesday!

I'm glad Villa won. West Brom had no need to play such a defensive way and I don't know why they did — they finished higher than Villa and they have had a very poor defence all season. Why they didn't play to their strengths instead of sitting back and waiting for Villa to mess up, I don't know.

Baggies are pretty bad at home too, so hopefully we can finish the job there.

Not a great game but as others have said West Brom brought that on themselves by being so negative!

Cheers Glowy. Not going well so far. Just don't have anything to stick up top and nothing on the bench really — although I do like both Marriott and Bennett they aren't target men.

Can't argue too much as Leeds were the better team but what unbelievable bullshit with that penalty decision. We've had a lot of penalties this season and we've scored every single one of them so it's not much of a stretch to suggest this should have finished 1-1.
