No posts in this thread for well over a month. I know these are dark days with Leeds and Forest doing well but keep the faith.

A victory and a strong performance out of nowhere for us tonight. Let's see if we can kick on now with Rooney in the squad later on this week.

I went to the Swans game 2 days ago and we couldn’t score against joint bottom despite having a PL quality player in our attack. We could still roll be playing until next Christmas and I don’t think we’d have scored.

And Leeds are finally going up. Dark days indeed.

Considering the likely imminent debutant tomorrow against Barnsley, it's clear our former England international recruitment strategy has evolved over time:

2015: Darren Bent, Scott Carson
2018: Frank Lampard
2019: Ashley Cole
2020: Wayne Rooney

Going to be hard to continue the trend when we're battling relegation to League 2 next year :slol:.

That’s just his face, he’s always looked weird.

True, true.

Great assist by him for the first goal. He's being largely outshone by the rest of the team though, who are actually playing quite well.

The Rooney Revolution just about trundles on.

Extraordinary end to the Forest game.

Derby day always makes me feel sick. I know it should be Cardiff feeling nervous with the chance of the double but I can’t help it.

Not a bad first half, concerned about their aerial threat but we came closest with a good effort by Celina onto the post.

Feels like the game could be won by a little bit of quality and I feel we have more of that in our side. Need to start the second half well.

Also, Cabango literally got booked for laughing :slol: :fp:

Such an annoying yellow as he’s a bit of a liability now. Definitely think we have more quality but all their set pieces make nervous.

Take the point but a little disappointed we didn't push them harder second half.

Cooper mate, you're allowed to make 3 subs. Baston on to try and hold the ball up more was the obvious change.

Pretty crazy that there's never been a league double between your teams.

It seems very odd. Unless there is more to it that hasn't yet come out, it appears the EFL signed off on the sale of the ground, with full consideration to the nature of the sale, then 18 months later realised that actually it doesn't like it, so decided to effectively rule against its own agreement... :?

It’s not just the stadium value though. There’s some very creative accounting going on too with the amortisation charges.

As a former auditor, and someone who has audited football clubs in the past I have no idea how Derby got their auditors to sign off on the accounting policy change made in 2017 for player contracts, let alone the EFL.

The concept of amortisation is entirely new to me, I think... can you give a layman's explanation?

This is a good article on it, in relation to Derby:
