As long as we don't fold altogether, we can just stay optimistic and look to the likes of Wolves, Leeds etc for inspiration in terms of League One success stories. Clearly it'll be a miserable life in League One but if we do actually end up getting promoted eventually it'll be the best season we've had for probably two decades by then! :fp:

Yeah...promotion.

Ha. Haha. Hahahahahahaha.....heh....oh.

We'll much more likely be in a relegation battle the first couple of seasons, so at least we might help you along the way back up!

If we do get promoted within, say, 2-3 seasons, we'll look back like "Yeaaahhh it was great, we had fun in League One, went to some new grounds, enjoyed some big wins and now we're back stronger than ever!". However, until and unless that actually happens, it'll be pure misery to actually live through it !

The first couple of seasons are absolutely fine, they aren't miserable at all. Its when you realise that you may actually be stuck there that the depression hits. Talk to Sunderland fans. Also, some teams (Hull being a good example) have come down in complete disarray and have gone straight back up.

Reading hit with a 6 Point deduction, with a further 6 point deduction suspended. And with no right of appeal.

Man, League One is an absolute sewer. It’s like quicksand, the more you thrash about and make noise, the longer you’re stuck in it

So proud of that performance . Back up to 0 points  :toot:.

Hoping Rooney is happy to stay with us in League One because it's getting harder and harder for his critics to justify themselves. Also desperately hoping we don't lose too many youngsters in January.

What are the current odds for Derby to stay up?

Might be worth a couplaquid

Yet another poor performance from us, no idea if I’m being to harsh on the team but considering the amount we’ve spent on some players over the past couple of years I guess I expect they’ll do well in the championship even with the way Jokanović keeps changing up our strikers. As it happened, we must have only put a bit of effort in for the last 20 or so minutes, rest of the match Coventry were on top without much effort on their behalf.

Sounds like Jokanović is department Sheffield United today, I’d guess he’s probably been told if we don’t sell any of our higher value players (not that they’ve been playing to a level anywhere near their supposed value, even with our less than great squad) then he’s not signing anyone in January.

Rumour circulating that Colin's retirement will be about as long as his previous ones.

Jokanović gone and Heckingbottom put in to replace him, seems to be a permanent deal rather than an interim position like last year. The way the press conference has gone (or going) sounds like the current owners want to make a few extra quid from selling our higher valued players, promote the youth (probably sell some of those too) and then sell the club down the line, feels like we’re on a downward spiral again like when we last got relegated from the Premiership, although that took a few years rather than just the one

Heckingbottom has been given a contract till 2026 :fp: Nothing against him at all and I hope he succeeds but we gave Jokanović a 3 year contract 6 months ago and he’s gone already

The Athletic reporting that Ragnick may be the interim Man U appointment.

Bruce was a funny joke (ah well), but I think Ragnick may be a decent shout, if true.

He has the benefit of not wanting to be a manager for much longer, and wanting to step up to a DOF soon (if he proves himself). So as interims go, that's pretty good, as at least they'll command some authority since it's not guaranteed they'll be gone at the end of the season.

Really solid performance from us today, good goal from Brewster and a typical Sharp goal to win 2-0. We seemed to be finding our feet again with Jokanović’s last couple of games in charge so it seems like more like a continuation of that rather than the new manager performance you see fairly often. Still 3 points and Bramall Lane looked very snowy towards the end of the match

Nice 3 wins on the bounce! Can’t remember the last time we did that (probably back in our promotion season from the championship), seems like a lot better football we’ve been playing these past few games, really hope we can keep some consistency in our style from now on, even if the results come and go.

This is a great goal but the celebration is ruined by him whipping his top off straight after. I've nothing against bras but I think it undermines the "sod the club shirt and cheer on my muscles" hyper-macho approach of said celebration when you're wearing one.

Wow, are you saying real men can't wear sport bras? FFS this is 2021 :capnscotty:

Another 3 points for the Reds! 1 point off the playoffs is quite remarkable considering we had just 1 point from the first 7 games under Hughton.

Stevie Cooper

E-I-E-I-O etc

Great win which we probably just about deserved, but that was never, ever a penalty.

Looked like one in real time to me, and the rest of those around me in the Upper Trent. And Colin Fray on commentary too.

Haven’t seen a replay yet.

If it wasn’t, then it makes up for the 4 or 5 stonewallers we’ve not had recently
