In fairness he has spent £20+Million on players and brought in expensive free transfers. Any decent manager would be 20pts better off.

So the team goes 0-3 up, right, and the manager gets no credit for that, that's all due to the players' good work. But then the team concede 3 goals in 15 minutes and that's all Karanka's fault, not the result of the players well and truly 100% BOTTLING it.

Total nonsense.

It was mostly sorted out the next season, when we did go up. There were a lot of nervy, tense 1-0 wins.

Exactly what happened yesterday, we were so open at the back out actual CBs were playing uptop and we had our DM and our keeper on the halfway line. Forrest would clear it we'd get it again on the halfway line and go again.

We were outplayed pretty much the entire match though, how we were 3-0 up is anyone's guess.

FWIW I don't want Karanka sacked (stability is what the club needs right now) but we really aren't performing at the level we should be.

I’m not advocating a change in manager. But I think our owner isn’t the patient type from what little I know of him and his history owning Olympiakos. Pretty sure he sacked a manager there when they were several points clear once.

Our defensive record is the 3rd best still this season in terms of goals conceded, and 2nd best in terms of number of clean sheets.

However, conceding 5 at Villa (and scoring 5; total freak game), losing last 2 home games 1-0 against teams we were expected to beat (Preston & QPR), plus now losing a 3-0 lead with 15/20 mins left yesterday, all on top of the £25m or so spent surely means he’s on borrowed time.

I hope we give him time as this season is miles better than recent seasons. However, 6yrs ago on Boxing Day 2012, we sacked O’Driscoll hours after beating Leeds 4-2, when we had exact same number of points after same number of games and were only a point or two off the playoffs.

It’s taken us 6yrs to get back to that position, under new owners, and with the club definitely on an upward trajectory compared to then.

But I do feel he will be lucky to ride it out. A big win away at Millwall on Sat, plus a win at home against Leeds on New Years Day may buy Karanka some time.

BTW, Echo.... it’s spelt Forest :fp:

Beating a 9 man team that’s in the relegation zone with a very late goal. :datass: ;)

One of these days our players will manage to get through a full match without thinking "strawberry float it, let's just stop trying now and see what happens".

Waiting for Karanka’s sacking to be confirmed.

Actually can’t remember the last time we’ve scored 6 in 2 games. No idea what’s changed with the team but whatever it is I hope it continues.

Norwich were amazing for the first 35 minutes (and Derby equally as poor) playing the best football I've seen them play this season if not ever.

Then Derby managed to score 2 just before half time from set pieces where Norwich didn't clear their lines (which has been our only blemish all season).

The second half was evenish up until about 65 minutes where Norwich were once again playing well and finished it off on 81 minutes with a goal which saw us 3-2 up and surely in position to see the game out and win.

Then one of the flood lights went out and I assume the ref was told it would be an easy fix as the pitch was still bathed in light and play could.habe easily continued.

After 15/20 minutes play restarted and Derby managed to score a couple on the break after one of our CBs was unable to cut out a long ball(I think this happened once each but in a slight different manner for both goals).

It will be interesting to see what Farke does with our CBs on the New Years Day game, we have 4, one played at LB today as our only recognised LB is out with a Hamstring problem for a few weeks. But our club captain has been kept out of the side since coming back from injury by our undefeated run.

Considering we've been vunerable at the back against the better teams, whether he comes back in.

Odd, that a 1-0 defeat at Millwall is the final straw.

It was said earlier that he had spent £20 million and was "only" on course to improve Forest by 20 points by the end of the season. The problem is, £20 million is no longer that much in the Championship, as parachute payments over a number of years give relegated clubs spending power (Boro spent £15m just on Assombalonga) and wealthy foreign owners choosing to invest in second tier clubs.

The fact of the matter is that in order to compete at the top end of the table, after struggling for a number of years, Forest need to spend that much, regardless of who the manager is. They will need to spend even further too, as £20m is not a lot of investment for a club that last finished in the top half in the 2013/2014 season.

Forest have arguably drawn too many games - 12, which is the highest in the league. As I said before, this is similar to what happened to Boro in Karanka's first full season when we just narrowly missed out on promotion.

Draws are symptomatic of a work in progress. Is sacking him going to turn those into wins? Or is it going to go back to the drawing board?

I'm not quite sure what the Forest fans or the board expect, but whatever it is, I would argue that it seems to be unrealistic.

The board. Pretty sure the majority of the fans don't want him sacked. I think we should be aiming for playoffs this season really, but I'm realistic and am reasonably happy with how the team has performed for the most part. We're having a bad patch just lately, but a couple of wins on the spin and we'll be right back up there.

I just checked the league table - 6pts off the playoffs with 21 games to go! From some of the talk in here I expected Forest to be upper bottom half of the table. There is simply so much time left in the season, you'd have to be crazy to get rid of a proven Championship manager like Karanka.
