A good win, we're having a very comfortably season which is nice after the last three.

It's an odd one because we're... Not really very good, but we're doing enough to get the results. Admittedly I've only watched a few games but they're never comfortable viewing and we've scraped a few slightly undeserved results (Doncaster springs to mind). Looks like a solid mid-table season is on the cards though so no complaints!

I struggle to imagine a life where watching the Dons is ever comfortable :slol:

It was pretty comfortable when we were rollicking through the lower leagues to be fair but indeed it has been quite the battle since reaching League Two, Midson's late penalty to avoid relegation in 2013 and surviving on goal difference in 2018/19 spring to mind!

I remember DML saying that League 2 is very difficult to get out of, unsure on the reasoning though.

I agree that it is very difficult. Partly because the budget difference between Leagues 1 and 2 aren't huge, so most relegated sides can hold onto most of their squads and be favourites to go straight back up.

As Pancake said, I'd have snapped your hand off for solid mid-table at the beginning of the season after 4 years of surviving by the skin of our teeth since promotion.

I remember the non league days when having a bad day meant only winning 4-0.

I think that we're clearly the best we've been since our first season in league 1, which admittedly isn't very good but the truth is that league one doesn't actually have that great a standard overall. I think that we're not great in midfield but we seem decent at closing down at the back, like today I think there were only a couple of minutes where Rochdale looked like they could score, also once we got Palmer and Chislett on we looked a lot better.

Amusement under late capitalism is the prolongation of work.

The squads in League Two are quite unstable too in that almost every team is propped up by loanees from Championship and Premier League teams. Frankly it's pot luck whether those signings click or not, so the relative quality of the teams fluctuates far more than in the higher leagues.

I don't think that's too much of an issue for us at the moment. It's only really Trueman and to a lesser extent Seddon that are part of our first team.

Yeah, those points sound familiar and about right. I'm sure it gets tougher each season too, it certainly felt that way when we were in the Championship.

Our policy of taking on loan goal keepers makes sense with such a limited transfer budget. There will always be good Championship quality keepers available to come on loan because of the nature of the position. Rammers has given us the best possible case study we could hope for of how valuable the experience can be.

Also, I think the above is a little unfair on Longman who has been a regular starter and key to Pigott's form, with the interplay and space he creates.

And for once I'm happy with a Swindon win.

Sounds like we played fairly well but have just got such a limp threat in attack.

...are we actually going down? :slol:

I cant imagine staying in League 1 and having to deal with both Derby and Sheffield Wednesday. What an impossible division that would be.

I thought OB was a Bristol Rovers fan for some reason.

A little bit but not starting much yet. Also pretty sure he tested positive for Corona yesterday so won't feature for a while now...

A win tonight should see us close the gap on top if not take the top.

Kalas out is a blow. Two tough games.

Gray can do one though
