LETS CELEBRATE GOOD TIMES COME ON

So after a while going without a good bunch of decent games, in the past month or so we've been treated to;

Viva Pinata: Pocket Paradise
FFIV
Spore Creatures
Bangai'O Spirits
Guitar Hero DS
Final Fantasy Tactics A2

I've not played any of these games yet, due to being a penniless unemployed student, but the DS seems to be kicking off again in the good games front.

What else is coming soon, and also, do you still play your DS as regularly as say this time last year?

I really need to go back and finish Phantom Hourglass, Days of Ruin, Sonic Rush Adventure, PW3 and FFCC: Ring of Fates

Basically, my entire DS collection.

I'm gonna pick up Final Fantasy IV soonish.

What I've bought on DS this year:

Advance Wars Dark Conflict - Brilliant game and definitely superior to Dual Strike, but I just irrationally stopped playing it. Which is a shame as it had a pretty good (If oddly written at times) story.

Bleach: Blade of Fate - A fantastic fighter which is proof that Treasure are Gods of men. My favourite DS game this year.

Space Invaders Extreme - I'm all for retro gaming and this is a superior update of an already great game. Frantic, fun and with plenty of depth for high score potential, it's a bargain at a budget price.

Guitar Hero On Tour - Despite its flaws I've had a lot of fun with it. The lack of Wi-Fi hurts, as do the occasional cramps (Literally!), but it's very well done and one of the best DS multiplayer games.

I have Bangai-O Spirits coming soon, plus I plan to get The World Ends With You, Dragon Quest IV, Final Fantasy IV, Rhythm Heaven, Band Brothers DX (JP), Phoenix Wright 3, Professor Layton and Viva Pinata DS.

I think 2006 was the DS's best year but 2008 has been very good  I honestly could keep going with the DS for eons, it's the perfect handheld and I really don't need a new one.

Currently playing Contact on and off after picking it up cheap. It's really fudging hard!

Must get Dark Conflict at some point and a new copy of Ouendan after my first was stolen

None of those titles interest me at all. The last game I bought for the DS was Zelda: Phantom Hourglass.
I haven't played my DS much this year. It's pretty depressing really.

I'm still holding out for an F-Zero DS, but my hopes are fading fast for that one.

Typical no mention of Civ Rev.

Space Invaders Extreme is still taking most time up though.

YES

I just ordered Bangai-o and Space invaders Extreme from Play-Asia for a grand total of 65 US$. Amazing considering that's the price of one DS game around these parts.

This. I think I gave up when I had to go through the main dungeon for the third or fourth time.

Bangai-o Spirits - £17.99 + SSE - £12.99 at Play.com

£31...which is less than $65, or the same prices exactly from Movietyme.com if you want the US boxes.

Same for me, I had a pretty good go of it then at mission 14 in the campaign just stopped completely. Didn't even play skirmishes or online. Not really sure why.

Randomly stopped playing it as well, haven't touched it in months...I must really go back to it at some point

Samesies

I gave up on either mission 20 or 21, did the exact same thing with the original GBA Advance Wars. Strange...

Or better yet get two copies of Space Invaders Extreme for £20 (Not sure if they still do the offer) at Gamestation, sell one copy online for £10 and then get Bangai-O from play.com.

Not that it really matters, whichever way you go you get a good deal for good games!

I'm actually playing a lot of Extreme at the moment. It does get very difficult (Particularly if you leave the number of lives on default in the options) but that's part of the appeal!

EDIT: Wow Dark Conflict's a game people give up on easily!

Play.com don't ship outside the UK so ner. Never heard of movietyme before though, but I just looked and they don't have bangai-o and Space Invaders costs about 1$ less than Play-Asia so I'm still happy! Yay!

I've just ordered Final Fantasy IV and Dragon Quest IV.

Square-Enix are having a good year on the DS. FFIV, DQIV, Final Fantasy Tactics A2, The World Ends With You...shame Chrono Trigger is looking like a 2009 game.

My DS Lite is getting a lot more playtime recently as I've rediscovered the GBA backwards compatibility, and am currently playing Final Fantasy V for the first time and ordered VI today.

Then there's the upcoming DS releases of Dragon Quest IV, Phoenix Wright 3, and Chrono Trigger plus there's still a fair few games from the back catalogue I want to pick up like FF3 and 4 and FF Tactics A2.

It really is a tremendous system.
