I'm constantly buying games for my DS - I don't particularly think it's gone through a lull, though admittedly that's partly because I import stuff.

Given that most of the 360 games I've played this year have been sent to me, my DS is comfortably the console I've purchased most games for this year. And all that without very much (at all) from Nintendo. I'd personally like to see them put some teams back on DS development next year.

Oh, and Ouendan 3, please. I'm keeping my fingers crossed we hear about that at TGS.

If Nintendo aren't making Wii games, Wii Ware games, or DS games what exactly are they doing?

I'm expecting big things from them in 2009.

They are making Wii games. They're just not ready yet.

(Incidentally, Nintendo will release at least two first-party titles in the first quarter of next year.)

That just makes it worse.

We know that Retro, Intelligent Systems, the Galaxy team, and the Zelda team are working on new projects but we aren't going to hear a peep about anything until E3 2009 at the earliest.

That's Spring 2009, so it could be Q1 or Q2.

IMO, this hasn't been a very good year for the DS. I've only bought 3 games for it this year:
PW:TT, AWDC, and Space Invaders Extreme :D I liked SIE and PW:TT but i was really disappointed by AWDC. It just has no personality and i can't remember one of the characters in it!!

Layton is the only game I've bought for it this year and tbh there's nothing on the horizon that interests me.

It's been out in the US for ages now, and it's out soon over here I believe.

Well then you've missed out on 3 or 4 absolutely brilliant games.

Really every single DS owner should have a copy of Space Invaders Extreme, theres absolutely no reason not to have it.

I recently have bought:

Bangai O Spirits
Space Invaders Extreme
Contra 4
Ninja Gaiden DS
Trauma Centre

And I plan on getting Soul Bubbles and Rhythm Tengoku 2. It's a good time for DS owners!

I haven't bought a DS game since Advance wars Dark Conflict, thinking of selling my DS actually.

Been playing Final Fantasy 3 recently, and forgot I hadn't finished the first Phoenix Wright. The last case is bloody amazing. Want to go out Monday and get number 2. I want to also try and get Wario Ware Twisted, I just love the Wario Ware games.

Twisted is by far and away the best game in the series too.

There was a time when thats all I used my DS for.
