Well I’ve picked up Celeste so far, Night in the Woods has always been one of those games thats tempted me as well, might have to download that as well. Is it any good though? Anyone here played it?
Whole bunch of games on my watchlist are now on sale and I've all the games still to play from other sales. I guess the question is whether they'll be cheaper down the line...
At the moment I'm eyeing up Wonder Boy, Horizon Chase Turbo and Golf Peaks with holding fire for a later discount on the Ages stuff (as it seems to cycle round fairly regularly), maybe Bastion. I really like the idea of Hand of Fate 2 but the rrp is way too expensive so it'll need 60-70% discount before I jump.
You could argue it's thin on content (similar to Nidhogg) but Black & White Bushido is an excellent Multiplayer game, and the Switch is an ideal console for it given the availability of Multiplayer on the go. It's a fighting game based pretty much on that one episode of Samurai Jack (Samurai Vs Ninja) where one player/team is white and the other is black, the dynamic then being that one blends into the light while the other blends into the shadow. Lighting changes every so often to keep you on your toes.
£6.99 in the sale. Would highly recommend if you're fancying a different multiplayer experience and can generally have a second player or more handy.

It's not good... it's brilliant! I played through it back in February 2018.
Night In the Woods (Switch) - I can't say too much about this as I'd hate to spoil anything for potential players. It is a weird, clever, captivating thing; a kinda spooky and odd Animal Crossing stuffed with life issues and feelings. It'll be absolutely marmite for folk and, luckily, I love it.
This is fan-flipping-tastic. Behind the 2D cartoon images lurks a range of 4D real-life stuff. I know I'm probably going overboard a bit, but it feels like this will be a runner for my GOTY.
In the end I gave it a [10] and voted it my GOTY in the GRcade 2018 awards. Would genuinely assess it as being one of the more memorable titles I've experienced.

Sounds like I might have to download it then! Been eying it up for a while and was waiting for a sale (like with Celeste)

I bought that last time it was on sale and I'm about half way through it, there's a lot of content and if you are a fan of that kind of racing game I'd recommend picking it up. I'm really enjoying it.

Hasn't it just had some new free content as well? Or some coming soon?
There's a big sale in the eShop with discounts including (deep breath)...

I will have to work out if I can afford that extra £7. Then again, I want to finish Link's Awakening, Untitled Goose game and then get back to Yakuza Zero, Hollow Knight and I plan to start Octopath Traveller when they are done.

I know this was months ago - but I was just interested did you play Night in the Woods and what did you think?
I purchased it after reading about it here but haven't played it yet. But this is definitely the sort of game I could love.
Are there other weird indie games like this worth trying?

Night in the Woods was my personal GOTY for 2018. It's a story-driven 2D journey with some wonderful characters; I loved the atmosphere and the way the game dealt with issues and feelings.
If you read that and are now thinking "Man, that sounds interesting" then it's definitely worth a look. If you thought "bloody hell, so boring, no guns" then avoid!

I thought it was great on the whole Barnsy! If anything maybe a little repetitive towards the end in how you progress in game days but the story is pretty good and the characters are fantastic, quite relatable at times as well. It’s yet another game I’m planning on doing a second run of, when the relentless onslaught of Switch games slows down

I'm definitely in the "man, that sounds interesting" camp on that one. Bloody heck, here we go again - I'm still not over Gris

Yeah, but it's a nice problem to have though isn't it
Despite all of the games I'm constantly eyeing up (Goose Game, Edith Finch, Windjammers, Niddhogg 2, and now Obra Dinn incoming... etc) I impulse bought Virtua Racing.
Not too sure why. I'm no massive race game fan, nor am I particularly a gaming historian. But I guess I fancied something pure and immediate and my interest was always piqued after that glowing Digital Foundry video.
And yeah, it's fine and sort of fun. Unsure how much mileage I'll get out of it (nor even why I bought it really).
Moral of the story? Sales Temptation: It Works.
Edit: Just remembered I impulse-bought Jotun, too. And now I've just seen Balladeer's advice on the previous page recommending not too.
