Yeah, I'm pretty happy about it too. Glad Lewis won it tbh.

F1 starting to get with the times

http://www.f1times.co.uk/news/display/09663

F1 to launch official YouTube channel next year

But race fans shouldn't get too excited just yet. Bernie Ecclestone has already confirmed that it won't show race footage...at least not for a while.
The 84-year-old has long dismissed social media as "useless", but it hasn't stopped the sport forming a team of eight to explore potential uses which has already seen massive improvements to F1's Twitter feed.
Before 2013, the @F1 account only posted links to its own online content, but throughout 2014 it expanded that to race data, statistics and even race images.
The official mobile app now includes exclusive video content from behind the scenes, and it's this content that is likely to be shared on the new YouTube channel.
"What we currently have on the app in terms of video content is the behind the scenes stuff so the interviews in the drivers' pen, that kind of extra content," confirmed Marissa Pace, F1's digital media manager.
Alongside YouTube, they hope to launch a Facebook page as well as redesigning the official website and expanding the mobile app to give fans a greater online experience.
However the failure to include even race highlights will leave the majority of fans unhappy with the offering. Showing race content online is something Ecclestone is keen to stop from happening as, according to him, it doesn't make FOM any money.
"If it works, the whole point about this I believe, is to encourage people to watch television," explained Ecclestone. "I'm not sure, and I have always thought 'does it actually do that' and I don't know. So probably in a year's time I shall be looking for figures to see what has happened."

I'd love to see Mclaren Honda do well and go against the cold grey machine that is the Mercedes and its Mercedes powered partners I don't want this to turn into a Formula Mercedes in which Mercedes wins all the time.

I wonder if McLaren will change their livery a bit. They were always Silver with Merc aside from one year from.what I remember. Would be nice to see them.go back to white/orange.

I can't see why they won't go back to white and red. Why would they stick with their Mercedes-inspired livery when they no longer use Mercedes engines?

Black, silver and rocket red are the company's registered corporate colours and have been since 97. Regardless of the engine that's the company through and through, it'd be like moaning that coca cola don't ditch the red (in before the pictures of diet coke and coke life labels).

As for wondering why they don't have orange and white, Marlboro PAID for the cars to be like that, giant fag packets, theres no way they'll do it out of nostalgia unless there's secret fag funding behind it like ferraris barcode scheme in place of the Marlboro logo. And the JPS colour scheme of the latest lotus, secret fag money.

Their issues have been aerodynamics, it was no surprise to see the first thing from Prodromou was a new front wing, both drivers this season complained that they had maxed it out. With its Red Bull clone, a fully integrated Honda engine and the best driver pairing on the grid, McLaren will be much more competitive next season.

Button was wearing a black and white McLaren Honda t-shirt the other day, so I'm going with a black, white and red livery :shifty:
