David Coulthard has signed with Channel 4.

I'll reboot the thread once the first car launches happen folks, just in case you were wondering. Need to wait until there is at least a little hype otherwise the thread will be dead on its ass before the season starts.

Does that mean he won't be doing Top Gear?

The new engines will be 25% louder and the refuelling may make a return in 2017.

Refuelling is never coming back.

Said it before but I really hope refuelling doesn't come back (and I agree with you; I seriously doubt it will). Retard fans who only started watching F1 when Hamilton came on the scene seem to think it'd 'improve the show'. Absolute rubbish. There is a lot wong with F1 but the lack of refuelling is not it. :fp:

Where did that come from?

I mean, I've always been a keen follower of F1 and I can't even begin to see any correlation between 'retard fans' entering the sport when Hamilton appeared. What a bizarre statement.

Let alone those so-called retard fans (who magically appeared with Hamilton) being the ones who think refuelling would improve the sport.

I'd like to see refueling return.

The racing is just so dull these days as the cars can't overtake without pressing the overtake button and 2 second pit stops don't allow any time to be gained off the track.

At least different fuel strategies would make things more interesting and gives the chance for slower teams to take a risk and win a different way.

If they want to slow down pit stops then have only one side of the car be worked on at any one time.

A lot of (particularly younger) British fans are into the sport because of his explosive debut.

Yeah but, 'retard fans'? The sport desperately needs to appeal to young fans to have a future anyway.

And I wouldn't even know how to determine where the calls for refuelling are coming from. What makes you think it's just the 'retard' young fans which appeared with Hamilton?

I just don't know where you're getting that from. Just seems a bizarre, made-up correlation. I've seen plenty of older people arguing fair and balanced points about how refuelling could help. Not that I necessarily agree with it myself, but it's certainly worth debating.

Bit like all the Chelsea fans coming out when they got the Russians money.

They need to stop tinkering with the rules on such major issues. To be fair though, they need to really cut the amount of fuel drivers are given because at the moment it simply isn't an issue. When was the last time someone actually ran out of fuel. If they can all easily make the end of the race then I don't see then it becomes a non factor.

But at the moment they fuel save through the race (not all tracks tbf) at different phases along with tyre saving so are not pushing themselves be it the car or the driver. But I do agree refuelling is not gonna be a big enough influence to change the sport for a better direction.
