Just watched the 94 & 96 F1 season dvd's Ferrari both years mid way thru the season they introduced revised updated cars. The F1 1990-99 Season box set is worth the money.

Just watched the Frank Williams documentary. Really interesting stuff. Also had to hold back some tears.

Williams to miss the first day of testing and the other teams have announce their line ups, barring Mercedes who I imagine will follow alternate mornings/after for Hamilton and Bottas.

Yeah, i saw it too, it was quite an emotional insight.

I had always assumed he still had reasonably good use of his arms, i didn't realise his movement is as limited as it actually is, especially since the TV cameras used to focus on him a lot during the team's 90's heyday.

I have an autograph from him in amongst my collection too (not sure when i obtained it, 1997-98 most likely), and feel privileged to own it.

I watched the Williams F1 film last night, really knowing very little about the history of Frank Williams or the team. Thought he came across as a selfish prick really. Of course it's a shame that he had the accident, but the way he treated his wife and family and his apparent disregard for anything other than motorsport doesn't exactly endear you to him. Was interesting to hear the story of Williams but Frank himself seems like a bit of a twat. Claire seems alright though, and I've always thought so, so I hope the team continues to survive and can improve on recent form under her.

Ferrari 2 seconds a lap faster than anyone else.

Congratulations to Hamilton for championship number 6 :toot:

It’s amazing how (relatively speaking) quickly the teams have gotten reliability to be an almost none issue even with these (quite often) overly complex power units, I can still remember the 2014 tests where Renault could barely strong a lap together due to the Red Bull overheating (resulting in chunks of bodywork being cut out quite a lot).

Teams just bang 100 + laps in with ease these days.

Thankfully it looks like Vettels going to get his seasons quota of spins out of the way in testing as well!

A shame, they really do need the running with a rookie and a driver who’s not raced in F1 since the end of 2010. Heard on the Sky coverage that Renault were close to not being able to run as well.

One thing I can say from following the first day of testing via Autosport and Twitter is that the cars look amazing out on track (for the most part), the Ferrari looks lovely , still not 100% sure on the Haas though.

And when I say it looks different, I mean the colour, just to clarify.
What's going on with the tyres this year? In some of the shots I've seen they looks really odd, like glossy and...weird.

I'm glad Ferrari are using their old number font again, the big block of white with a black number which they used in '17 and '18 looked awful.

Yeah the light has a really big effect on the Ferrari for some reason, despite the Red Bull having used it for a few years we’ve not seen a similar result on the coloured the car, must just be the red?

I quite like the look of the shiny tyres as well, only lasts for a short while so it’ll help identifying drivers out on new tyres throughout the season.

Are they slowly rolling F1 TV out in the UK now? Just saw it advertised at the end of a clip of Leclerc going round in his Ferrari so thought I'd give it a google and the UK came up as the region you want to watch in. Granted its only the basic package (so I guess live races alongside classic races and thats it?). But then it has a banner of text saying "catch up on demand with race highlights" so maybe not live?

Still, moving slowly in the right direction considering when it originally launched the UK was left off of the list altogether!

Much to Williams delight they finally got out on the track today, completing around 20 laps in the process. All teams looking very reliable so far, except Haas who seem to have had the most stoppages out of them all. Renault also had a tiny issue yesterday when part of their rear wing fell off when Ricciardo had the DRS open.
