Sergio Perez and Haas team don't come out of it particularly well and it reminds you what a dick Verstappen is. Surprisingly Ricciardo and Horner don't come across great either. The younger drivers get given the most leg up, Occon, Gasly and Le Clerc in particular.

I've watched two episodes so far and my initial impressions are similar to this. Gene Haas is coming across as a terrible person to work under, so far.

Gunter Steiner gets the biggest kicking of the whole thing, seems like a right clueless prick.

That is actually who I meant in my post :shifty: Was half concentrating on my post. He seems absolutely awful. The mechanic who made a mistake in Australia could barely look at Steiner as he was apologising. Looked like absolute fear to admit to the mistake which is awful to have in the team.

It's funny to watch knowing both the results and following F1.

"Riccardo to be first aussie to finish top 3 at home GP, he is in 4th with 6 laps to go" - no chance

"We qualifies well. Let's have a good race my Haas engineers, we have some new mechanics doing pit stops so let's hope that goes well" - Gutted!

"Grosean jokes" - Grosjean

As for the mechanic apologising, it wasn't exactly like he could pretend it wasnt his fault. He let himself and his entire team down. Of course he was broken by that weight. If your messed up at work so bad that your company didnt make any money that week, you'd be similarly worried about your position. Gunther didnt lay into him for it because his view is the buck stops with him. Haas laid into Gunther for the exact same reason. It all looked normal to me.

Only seen the first two eps so far, don't feel like I'm learning much.

I've seen 3. It's trying to make a soap opera format advert for people who don't follow it imo. OMG LOOK HOW MUCH DRAMA THERE IS I WILL WATCH THIS.

It's alright, as you say though when you know what will happen the drama is non existent.

Got 2 episodes to go. Have enjoyed it but not what I thought it was going to be like.

Worst bit was when they announced that Kimi was going to Sauber and they said that LeClerc going to Ferrari was announced weeks later when it was within 15 minutes of each other

My old work runs the following competition, I take part because it was a big topic of conversation whilst I was there, and remains so when I meet up with former colleagues. I don't really watch F1 anymore so has anyone got any ideas about how to approach the following;

1. Each race week you must submit 3 drivers to me by 12:00 on the Friday before the race – no exceptions – if you do not submit drivers then you will be handed the top 3 from the week previously.

2. In order to progress to the next race 1 of your 3 drivers must come in the top 7.

3. You can only pick each driver 3 times in the season. HOWEVER, if all 3 of your drivers come in the top 5 of the race you get a free pass, and therefore it is though you have picked no one that week.

4. Each person gets one extra free pass in the season where no drivers are picked – again this must be communicated to me by 12:00 on the Friday.

Well as its by 12 noon for most weekends you’ll have a bit of data to take an educated guess from in for the form of FP1/2. I’d read one of the reports as well regarding the sessions to see if a driver is looking on particularly good form, if the track suits them, if the car suits the track (should get a general idea from FP results unless they’re doing mainly aero work or they’ve got a third driver in). Some weekends you’ll have to take a punt though as you can only pick a driver 3 times, thankfully the midfield is looking pretty close from testing so a lot of drivers have the potential to score points at each race so getting at least one driver in the top 7 (even if you’ve excluded the top 3 teams) might be quite doable.

https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/formula1/47542802

Sky has imposed a series of restrictions on C4 in the contract for the highlights races, which will affect both the race coverage itself, and what happens around it.

For example, only 50% of the total running time of C4's programme can now be taken up by the on-track coverage - down from between 60-70% last year. They are not allowed to do interviews in what is known as the 'pen' - where all the drivers are taken to do a round-robin of broadcasters after qualifying and race - or in the pit lane. Any 'pen' interviews they use will have to come from Sky. The amount of interviews C4 can do in the paddock is restricted. And they have been forbidden from doing a 'grid walk'.

None of these restrictions apply to the live British Grand Prix.

That’s a real shame, I’ve started to prefer channels fours highlights coverage when I can’t watch the race live. The race coverage seemed to last for around 60 mins and the coverage was pretty decent. Knowing that the race had finished made it more appealing to watch a shorter version rather than a full race replay on sky.

He and Sid Watkins changed the face of the sport in terms of safety features, from what I've seen/heard/read. A big loss.

I’ve just seen about Charlie Whiting as well. Very sad news as he’s done (along with other people of course) a lot for the safety of the sport :(

Awful news about Charlie Whiting at a relatively young age. Seemed to command a lot of respect around the paddock and in the past few years I don't think I can real off many shocking decisions he's overseen. Will be sad not to hear his name when drivers want their engineer to cry to daddy because someone overtakes them.

Those restrictions Sky are imposing on C4 are so strawberry floating vindictive, I wish they would just piss off out of F1. They've brought absolutely nothing to the coverage of the sport. Hopefully ratings continue to fall and Liberty's hand is forced. I doubt it though, given the state of the rest of their sport offering in the last few years I expect them to cling onto F1 till it's pried out of their money grubbing hands. I can use my parents account on the SkyGo app and I'll watch when convenient but there's no way I'd pay for it and will be dipping into C4 whenever possible.
