"The champagne ceremony is respectful"

*Hamilton runs around spraying everyone with champagne*

Well despite overtaking being impossible, that was quite a good Grand Prix. It had shades of Schumacher/Alonso at Imola in 05 and 06.

Im surprised at the lack of crashes to be honest, but I guess that is down to the lack of pace. They definitely need to work on making F1 races more of a series of absolute sprints between pit stops.

But as Monaco goes, that was pretty good!

Got to love the Italian media/press, already saying that the relationship between Leclerc’s management and the team is already going downhill to the point where they’re looking for other drives

I mean it was shockingly poor from them in Monaco but enough to jump ship? Nah the Italian press just love stirring that pot

The purpose built Tilke circuits are one thing, but the butchery he has committed against classic F1 circuits over the years is beyond a joke.

Hockenheim, Silverstone, and Mexico City spring to mind.

Before FP1

Mercedes - "we're going to struggle to match Ferrari's speed around here"

After FP1 headline:

Hamilton fastest as Mercedes dominates practice

I can't beleive it's 7 years since I went to the race. I'll share some of my photos at some point.

Wonder if Ferrari can translate this pole into a win, for the second time this season they have the car to do so but you can imagine Ferrari will find a way to mess it up.

well Mercedes will be a 1-2, unless there is loads of crashes today & Canada is known as track for action and crashes

Yeah they left Leclerc out far too long, no idea why. Surprised by Renault’s race pace, shame Hulk seems to have gearbox issues on the upshift but he seems to be holding on nicely.

Seems a bit harsh on Vettel 5 second pen.

It was close but I didn’t think it was worth a 5 second penalty but oh well.

Hulkenberg’s gearbox issues seems to have solved themselves, cracking race from them both, really showing Gasly up in the vastly quicker Red Bull.
