Both Saubers disqualified for having clutch settings that mimic traction control, meaning Kubica gets a point, as does Hamilton.

As Bottas is his closet rival, he actually EXTENDS his championship after that awful performance

Awesome race. I think they need to massively reduce grip, perhaps go radical and ban wings on the cars. Wings should only be permitted for wet races or something. Brave to see them allow the race to start from a standing start too. I can't remember the last time a wet race started like that. Normally they lap under the safety car and run the laps down, then do a rolling start when the track is basically dry.

EDIT: Hamilton probably should have gone around the track in retrospect after his off. What he did was correct from a safety point of view, but he should have lapped under the safety car, nobody could overtake him evn with a damaged car and the team would have had time to rejig the strategy.

thing is though that drag strip has always been there at Hockenheim longer then he has been alive lol.

Yeah he most likely would of moaned if Gravel or Grass was there. That is one of the issues i have with current drivers they always moan about things no matter how small he ran off the track onto a drag strip. Which is not part of the race track last time i looked lol

McLaren really should have ditched Alonso to keep Honda. I said at the time that going to Renault to keep Alonso was just an incredibly short sighted decision. Renault do usually always get it right eventually, but at the moment they seem as far away from the front as they can get. Having said that, McLaren aren't currently in the business of designing great cars either, they should be at least where RBR were last season.

Not sure how I feel about the rumoured 22 race F1 calendar for the 2020 season, I love F1 but you have to wonder how many more races they can put in before the teams are going to need to hire an entire second race team. To me 20 races seems like the sweet spot.

Having 22 races still won't solve the fundemental problem F1 has with the good track/crap track ratio (which leans heavily in favour of crap).

I don’t find the tracks that bad for the most part, only ones I’d change if I could are Spain and France so far. In the second half the only two I’d want rid of again are Russia and Mexico, even then the races at Mexico haven’t been terrible and it’s just because I’m not really a fan of the track.

The calendar should be split half the crappy tilke tracks and second half all the classic tracks ending at either Japan or Brazil

I hear people using the A1 next to my house like a racetrack all the time so F1 can use that if they need another venue .
