Verstappen just shows Gasly up week after week, nearly 9 tenths up on him in qualifying today.

Nice to see Max finally get pole anyway, superb lap from him.

Yeah not sure why Anthony Mackie was so rude. You're on a strawberry floating F1 grid, it's not like someone is doorstopping you on the way to buy bog roll.

strawberry floating Captain America too.

Not his biggest fan but Hamilton really made his strategy work today, tense fight between Verstappen and Hamilton. Ferrari woefully far off the pace, Gasly put in an even worse performance today than in qualifying, if Bottas’s seat for 2020 rested on his performance at the German and Hungarian Grand Prix he’s not exactly making it a harder decision for Mercedes about whether to keep him or give Ocon a shot. Best drives of the race came from Sainz and Räikkönen in my opinion.

In short, not the best Grand Prix but there’s been worse ones this year, would have been truly spoilt if we’d got 4 amazing Grand Prix in a row.

Edit, I’ll actually be amazed if Gasly keeps his seat for 2020, he’s on 63 points to Verstappen’s 181. Granted he was probably never going to be on Max’s level but he’s not even on 50% of his points, no podiums while Max has 2 wins and a further 3 podiums.

I imagine Anthony Mackie wants to talk to Martin Brundle as much as Martin Brundle wants to talk to Anthony Mackie. Those interactions are always painful and compounded by Brundle not having any actual questions.

The grid walk is awkward more often than not, should just stick to talking to drivers and team principals or celebrities he kind of knows so they have a bit of rapport already.

I can imagine that race not being so great if you’re not a Ham or Ver fan. But as a Hamilton fan I thought it was a great, tense race.

Sainz has been excellent this season. Consistently putting in great results. Norris has been doing well but definitely in Sainz’s shadow so far

I thought that was another really good race. It had shades of Hungary 1998. You can't really ask for more at a track like Hungary in the dry, flat out racing from Hamilton and a change of lead with 2 laps to go.

To be honest you're not missing much by not seeing them this year  I appreciate they all add to the feeling of it all though, seeing the buzz on the grid before the race gets underway but why he almost insists on trying to doorstep celebs I just don't know, it very rarely comes off but when he does find one to talk to who's up for a chat its not bad I suppose.
