I probably won't get much chance to play F1 Manager when it comes out due to moving house around then, so I've instead gone back to Motorsport Manager. I forgot how good a game it is. Why it never got a PC sequel is beyond me, as since 2015 so much has changed. The cars don't come with halos, no DRS or ERS (in the base game).

I’ve not looked into it in a while but I recall that due to the game not performing that well a sequel was hard to justify or something along those lines. Why they didn’t try crowdfund a sequel I don’t know as it was a great game.

i think they make more money on mobile

i really enjoyed mm3 i think it was on ipad, though its a bit more basic in some respects - and there is another one in the same vein but that has a lot more online stuff in it so i guess thats where the cash is made

I did play the Switch version, no idea if that was a straight port of the mobile game without micro transactions but it was pretty solid. Obviously F1 Manager 22 being an official game will give it a nice boost alone.

Good for him.

Be interested to see what kind of impact he can make next season.

Wonder where this leaves the whole Williams moving to Renault engines for next season

Didn’t realise Mark Webber is his manager either.

I do hope he does well, people seem to rate him very highly so I guess even in Alpine, that will add a chunk of pressure onto his shoulders. It’s normally always good to see someone new in the sport though, Zhou this year and obviously Piastri next year. Guess this means Ricciardo is more or less safe?

Edit, it’s odd that they’ve announced this without any official comments from Piastri, watch McLaren announce him as a driver tomorrow

Even without running their academy driver, Renault should still be more than happy to get another team running their power units from next year. I’ve seen Logan Sergant (who’s running FP1 for Williams at Texas) rumoured to be in the running now.

Is that McLaren causing contract shenanigans in both Indycar and F1 at the same time? :slol:

McLaren have apparently signed loads of drivers and it sounds like Zak’s been doing a Mike Brewer and giving everyone a handshake with some sort of deal attached

Looks like Alpine are one driver short of a podium.

Got to assume Piastri has signed for McLaren then? Apparently his contract ran out on July 31st with Alpine, so Vettel retiring and Alonso signing for Aston yesterday has properly messed things up

It was Alex Palou in Indycar who is saying he's signing for McLaren after his current team said they had extended his contract.

He might end up racing in F1 under McLaren apparently.
