No-one is the better option. Show picture in picture of Ted Kravitz on a skateboard again if they want to kill time.

With luck, Fernando will beat Max into turn 1, then remain in front after Max breaks down on lap 3. ;)

I will say though, at least with Alpine, Alonso is able to get the odd decent result. His 4 years at McLaren previously were a complete waste of time in comparison.

Does anyone know when the last time he had a front row start was?

Wow, Alonso! Still not convinced Alpine are reliable though. He's been on for some good quali and race results so far this season only for something to fail.

Nice to see a bit of a mixed up grid. Russell taking a gamble and losing  , Alonso P2, the Haas guys putting on a good show, and the likes of Perez and Leclerc further back to try and carve their way through the field - should be an interesting race.

Without looking, I’d guess it was some time in 2013? The Ferrari was pretty good that year with a close field in general so I’d guess 2013, if not then definitely 2012 as he had a few (2?) pole positions that year.

I’ve also read this morning is that Aston Martin messed up the tyre pressures for qualifying, quite a rookie mistake really.

A classic episode of Ted's Notebook. He lost track of time and didn't speak about Mercedes or Red Bull.

Not optimistic about this race. Max is going to walk it as long as his car is reliable, even if Sainz can get into second.

Great to see Alonso back at the front, but F1 really needs him in a decent car before he retires. I can see him finishing 4th if things go his way.

I’m expecting Alonso to get his elbows out if he gets a decent start, Verstappen called him a little old afterall

Think we could have a race like Monaco, ie two halves that might be quite different. The first half will be quite hectic, all the drivers out of position will slowly make their way back into a more normal position and as a result the second might be quite dull as Verstappen probably will have a decent advantage by that point so it’ll probably be a bigger focus on 2nd outside of reliability issues.

My SkyF1 channel gets shut off in a few days, so this will by my last live F1 race!

Although maybe CH4 get Silverstone live? I can't remember.
