The least they should do is get rid of that crappy chicane at the end of the lap.

I believe they’re going to get that configuration graded for 2023, so at least they would have an option over which one to use in 2023.

It's going to be a lot of fun looking at comparisons between the Red Bull and updated Aston Martin car.

Go go green Red Bull

In Aston Martin’s defence I assume this has been in the works since they unveiled their first spec of the AMR22, even copying (sorry, interpreting other peoples designs) they’d be looking at longer than a couple of months for the above results/upgrade and that’s assuming they could copy Red Bull’s design as soon as it rocked up to the last day or two of testing with enough pics to look at and gather data from.

Also seen that they might be bringing both cars the updates but guess we’ll see tomorrow whether that’s the case or not.

Well there doesn't seem to have been much point in them copying the Merc this time around. ;)

Obviously it won’t be anywhere near comparable data wise, but I guess it could be a bit of fun insight for how the Mercedes engine performs in something akin to one of the joint fastest (fastest in race trim though) cars on the grid aero philosophy wise. I also assume this might be why Aston’s sidepods had a lot of free space in them, maybe ready to accommodate a potential move to what looked like the winning side pod design? As a race car it doesn’t look as nice as the A spec but I’ll obviously be a lot happier if it performs like the Red Bull!

I just don't get why they didn't do it at the same time last when they changed turn 10 back into its original configuration. And why leave it till 2023 when the track is already there but only used for bikes :|

FIA have investigated the green Red Bull and it’s been in Aston Martins wind tunnel from around November last year so obviously all good on that front. I do assume it’s had some Red Bull inspired tweaks since that spec hit the track though.

Any interesting changes to the cars this weekend or is it expected to be another clash between Red Bull and Ferrari?

A lot of changes, the only team not bringing updates is Haas, whether it’ll change the order of the field is a different question though.

FP1 on now, despite earlier rumours both Aston Martins are running the upgrade package.

Do you think he says "thank you very much" to his hairdresser the same way he says it during a race?

It’s certainly going to be one to watch where the apparent copying of the RB18 from Aston Martin will go, all the media and Red Bull seem to be running with the only option being that they’ve somehow acquired data from Red Bull about the current spec of the car rather than having a similar concept in the works (from November last year if Aston Martin are to be believed, and at the moment the FIA do believe them) that’s had some Red Bull inspired tweaks since that hit the track back in March. I’d like to think they wouldn’t be stupid enough to have actually got one of their current employees from Red Bull to bring some data with them but you never know after the McLaren spygate! You’ve got to think Red Bull could have had an entirely different concept in the works back when the people on question left though?

Anyhow, qualifying :toot: Mercedes are looking good so far, be nice to have a proper 6 car fight for pole.

Either they’re awful looking copies of the Red Bull (likely) or they’re properly hiding their pace in the hope it’ll all blow over soon and they can ramp up performance. I’m leaning to the first one
