Kimi putting out the fire on his own car was amusing.

Ben Edwards tells why he's leave Ch4 and he gives his reasons as to why he, and others, don't stop talking during the races.

https://www.motorsportmagazine.com/arti ... entary-box

“What strikes me about snooker and tennis is that you must be quiet at certain times,” he continues. “What Murray developed, and what we have all followed, is we talk the whole time – and it’s not always the same in other countries. I know that drives some people mad. In tennis I love the silence, but in motor sport I feel you need explanation of what we’re watching because it’s not as simple as hitting a ball or a ball going into a pocket. In some sports the real skill is knowing when to shut up, but I’m not sure in motor sport it fits.

“The only time I do feel it is good to shut up is if the race has settled, not a lot is happening and they show a good onboard. Then I do agree it’s good to shut up. That is one of the rare times. The trouble is with modern F1 coverage they are so good at following where the action is, it doesn’t happen often.”

There's one obvious difference between Ben and the fool at Sky - Ben doesn't spout a constant stream of bollocks.

Think it came in slightly slower than his GP2 powered 2015 McLaren Honda though

It looked and sounded terrific though :datass:

Really going to miss Ben's commentary, he and DC have been a great team over the years.

A non Mercedes powered pole

Pretty standard qualifying really, good job from Norris to get P4 ahead of the fellow Red Bull of Albon.

That's a shame. Been a fan of Edwards since his days at Eurosport when he was paired with John Watson.

Read earlier on autosport that Lewis was bedridden during his bout of corona, and is still not 100%.

I think this could well affect him during the race, as while being an F1 driver means he always has a high level of fitness, having a nasty bug of any kind does leave someone weakened and fatigued, and with a virus this nasty, it will still be affecting him even though he's had a negative test.

Although he wanted to return to the cockpit, i think it may be too soon and perhaps he should have continued to rest up instead.

Would he be black-flagged if he just pottered about as if he's on a nice Sunday drive?

He won't do that because he's not driving a 2015 McLaren.

I do think though that it could affect his judgement, especially later in the race.

Well, last race just about to start, would love it if Verstappen could hold on for the win.

A shame this is the finale after a fair few interesting races.
