I think it's time Lewis stopped letting his dad buy his clothes.

I sometimes feel like Lewis is trying too hard to make people criticise him.

Captain Kinopio wrote:What is with some drivers not kneeling. It seems so strawberry floating dumb. It's not like they're doing it during a national anthem so what is the objection? What do they think they're doing by not just doing it.

I'm not really one for symbolism for the sake of symbolism but on an issue like this in a sport like F1 it just comes across as entitled wankery.

I'm far from thinking Hamilton is an idol of civil rights but on an issue like this it must be so infuriating to see some of them objecting to such a simple gesture.

Well when you look at the nationalities of who's not kneeling

Raikkonnen- Finland
Kyvat- Russia
Sainz- Spain
Verstappen- Netherlands
Magnussen- Denmark
Leclerc- Monaco
Giovinazzi- Italy

Those countries are not exactly diverse bastions of racial tolerance. I would suggest those drivers just don't care about black people.

FIA trying to figure out how to publicly chastise racing point for cheating, when they let Ferrari off for cheating behind closed doors.

I’m still surprised that all the other non Ferrari powered teams haven’t protested that finding constantly, Ferrari got off very lucky. Although Racing Point haven’t been penalised as bad as they could have been, they’re still getting to use the rear brake ducts after all

The thing with this ruling is, there is no rule against taking photos of other cars and copying their innovations. Otherwise countless car from the past would have been illegal. So the only way the Racing Point would be illegal is if they obtained the designs from Mercedes. That would put Mercedes in breach of the rules too.

You'd also have to ask why the FIA visited both factories before the season started due to these worries and deemed the car legal. They can't declare the car legal, then penalise Racing Point for using it. That's just not fair use of the rules.

Presumably this has more to do with keeping the big manufacturers happy and trying to prevent Renault from pulling out again.

Considering the performance of the Alfa, it wouldn’t surprise me one bit. Would be sad to see him go though.

Yeah it probably is to keep the other big teams happy, have they been told they have to change anything for next year?

Ferrari are also going to appeal the verdict as apparently they don't understand how a car can be allowed to race with an illegally designed part.

Apparently after their 2019 engine they also don't understand irony!

Ferrari and McLaren are appealing the outcome of the decision.

I’ve not looked into it yet but from next year the FIA are going to emend the regulations to prevent copying to such an extent, but where does that leave Racing Point? Will they be allowed to continue for next year with the same car or have to design their own from scratch this time?

For once I agree.with Ferrari. They must be wondering if they can slap last year's IDDQD engine in if you're allowed to.run illegal parts as long as you pay a little fine.

I also suspect tracing point will use the TOTALLY A NEW CONSTRUCTOR defence when they become Aston Martin. ITS NOT THE SAME CAR AS LAST YEAR WE DIDNT EXIST!!!!!!

You have to think Ferrari will be mentioning that in their appeal surely. I can see this going on for a long time about what’s legal and what’s not legal.

im not sure that they could do anything in regards to the brakes that would satisfy Renault Mclaren and Ferrari after what they learnt from the Mercedes cad files what has been learnt can't be unlearnt and all that.

I think the issue is that the brake ducts on the Racing Point are legal, but the way they obtained the design is apparently not.

The Ferrari engine in of itself was illegal.
