The Netflix show is still as cringeworthy as ever. Haas being labelled the rockstars of F1 ffs :fp:

Gunter Steiner still comes across as a grade A banana split.

This gooseberry fool works though as I’ve spoken to numerous people who have gotten into F1 through this pantomime.

I enjoyed it for for what it was. And as a gate way for casual viewers it fulfilled its goals my only criticism was zero representation of Alfa Romeo

Nice to see they haven't changed the layout too much, looks fast.

I'm actually very impressed, looks like it's not been Tilke-fied which is definitely a bonus.

That banked turn is neat too.

Probably a stupid question here but why aren't F1 cars 4 wheel drive?
Wouldn't it make them faster or would it just add pointless weight and complexity?

With the cars current layout I doubt it could be done, but considering some of the ways they get around things they might be able to implement some form of front wheel drive? It’d certainly add a chunk of weight, racing in the rain would be ace with 4 wheel drive though.

Zandavoort looking ace as well from that onboard lap.

The Bahrain Grand Prix is going to be held behind closed doors due to coronavirus, that’ll certainly make for an odd spectacle to watch on TV (presume TV crews will still be allowed there), wonder if they’ll bother with a lot of the pre race stuff or just get straight to it?

Well there's going to be no atmosphere...so in that regard it'll be absolutely no different from most F1 races.

That's not really true for the long standing races circuits and even some of the newer ones. Bahrain though it'll hardly be noticed.

To be fair, Bahrain has always had about as much atmosphere as the moon anyways.

Insert Hamilton "thanks to all my fans watching on tv for giving me the energy to win the race thanks guys"

When does the Sky deal end so we can actually have some hope of F1 going back to a service that isn't horribly expensive?

There's still several years left to run on the current crappy TV deal sadly.

sad thing is though when the current sky deal does end i expect Sky will offer to pay more to keep the rights too it seeing as they won't want to lose it. Just like they do with all other sports they have. Also Liberty will want to get more people on F1TV that will i think be a factor once the current tv deals end.

I thought the current deal ran till the end of 2021?

I hope Liberty Media just say no to whatever Sky offer to pay, or at least have the same coverage available for considerably less on F1 TV. Sooner it’s available to more people the better, sadly I don’t see the free channels being able to stump up the cash needed for a decent deal including live coverage.
