Yeah it would be great :toot:

As I said, crossing my fingers that cross play between at least the consoles is a thing for the 2021 game and it might be feasible if others are planning on jumping into the next gen next year. It’d be neat if we could do a similar calendar to the actual one (not this years though ) for a GRcade WDC and WCC if we had enough people.

I can normally rent any game we choose from Boomerang so I'd be up for it.

If there's no cross play, we could run a time based race and make results from that. 15 lap race, full grid of A.I. cars, full damage, mandatory stop. One shot race (so if you dnf then you dnf). The final time for the entire race would decide the finishing order, then we compare our fastest lap and award a bonus set of points for that.

Thats a nice compromise, I very much doubt they’ll even think about introducing cross play for the outgoing consoles but would make a nice headline for the new ones.

When i used to play F1 Championship Edition on PS3 (the last F1 game before Codemasters), there was a mode where you could simulate races using 22 AI cars with the option of choosing the grid line up.

It allowed me to stage a forum based F1 game in which people signed up to the respective race seats (Many well known people from ONM would play, i think one might have even gone on to become a really big youtuber as they share the same username, and it's one i've not seen anywhere else), and do battle on a daily basis with me posting the results and championship standings (along with video clips of any interesting shenanigans like crashes). Also, because some teams were slower, they would be allowed to start at the front for race 1, after which the grids were the reverse of the previous result (it actually allowed teams like Super Aguri to win races).

It's a shame Codemasters never carried over that game mode, as a modern version would have provided a great opportunity for a GRCade championship.

That was a great game! I used to role play it a bit - start off in the slowest car and put it on really tough difficulty, then based on where I finished in the championship I'd start another one in a team befitting that position. Did a few giant killing races in the super aguri where I was just really on it and managed a win or two.

It’s still ridiculous that there’s not even a simple grid editor in the official games so you can recreate the starting grid from the actual Grand Prix before playing them out for yourself.

I recently re-downloaded Geoff Crammond's Grand Prix 2. That'll do me.

I always wondered why there wasn't a way to have a downloadable play out of the gp that's just happened so you can race in it yourself. I know it'd be a lot of effort, but to have a close approximation of the race you've just watched, but you can drive in it and try to change the outcome, would be awesome.

First race went well. The good old days where cars just snapped in half in computer games.

Also, as a computer-illiterate individual, why can my gaming laptop run my Oculus Rift smoothly, but not GP2 with any of the graphics details on without working at 1fps?

I didn't realise that game got a Xbox one port.

I think the P in Pirelli needs to be a bit bigger.

Ooh I'd have been all over this. Sounds ace!

We should be able to pull together a GR Championship on one of the consoles when 2020 comes out (I can always run one for 2017 on PS4 whilst we wait if enough people have that).

Well the idea for Vagisil came from my wife. My muse. My flame.

Heavily rumoured that Vettel and Ferrari have decided to halt contract negotiations and will be parting ways at the end of the year.
