Small improvement in Channel 4’s highlights for the 2020 season, they can now show 70% of the race rather than 50% they could show last year. The highlights can also start 30 minutes earlier, won’t be much good for the USA Grand Prix though as they’ll still be on late.

I guess we should be grateful for small mercies.

The coverage last season was often hacked to bits, so that a whole bunch of pit stops would take place unseen and the race order would look completely different from one shot to the next.

I agree they literally held on for the speeds another onboard from France the car is bottoming out as he throws the car around the track

One thing what these onboards capture so well is the sensation of speed.

Williams should have 5 and 6 on their cars.

Driver numbers are still crappy, the numbering should have been allocated to teams like they were pre-1996 (Ferrari would have been given 27 and 28).

I agree the number system for the drivers is dumb and gimmicky

I may just be a pedant, but the lack of No.1 on the champion car is also terrible, when the system of driver numbers was introduced (though this was in itself a mistake), having No.1 should have at least remained mandatory.

While I don’t mind the drivers numbers (don’t take much notice really) I still preferred the previous method of driver/team numbers, allocated firstly by the team with the reigning WDC and then in WCC order.

All about money. They (mistakenly) thought people would latch on to driver numbers as they did with Valentino Rossi, and would therefore get a nice slice of merchandise pie. It's why Hamilton doesn't run with a 1 on his car, even though he's allowed to.

The only driver who seems to have actually made good use of his number is Hamilton, whether it’s actually made him any extra money I don’t know.

Think Tänak might be out of Monaco already..... was only on stage 4 of 16.

Edit, just so people know, both of the occupants are ok, imagine they’re a little bruised mind.

That is a huge crash and just shows how good these cars are if the occupants are fine.
Do that in a normal car and it's certain death.
