Well that was a gooseberry fool show.

If the thing actually worked it would be quite entertaining as an alternative.

Time for adventure

That opening lap was like our driveclub races

When people weren't lagging all over the shop, there was some decent racing. Lando properly racing, using real technique, while some others (the guy in the Ferrari) spending more time driving outside the track lines than in them to hold position.

i watched a bit of esports race and i did not find it that good or interesting. Jack nicholls was doing the commentary instant switch off for me as i said before.
I understand they are doing what they can over race weekends with what is going on IMSA did a super sebring 90 min race as well this weekend on Iracing i watched some of it better commentary but for me i will stick to watching real races on youtube. I don't mind playing races online myself but it does not make good viewing in the great scheme of things.

The esport race as entertainment was alrigjt needed some kinks worked out to make it flow better but as for the non existant sportsmanship on show was frustrating for me when Norris was shunted off on the last corner

Only needs to be 8 races to be able to crown a WDC and WCC though. As time goes on though it really doesn’t feel like we’ll get racing till much later, might just start it as Spa?

At least i hope it will be that many.

They’ll be trying to push for a few triple headers, think the teams will be very hesitant to do that though as even just one triple header must take an immense toll on the entire team.

Edit, also seen today that Helmut Marko almost is advising Verstappen to get Coronavirus sooner rather than later as Verstappen doesn’t want it to potentially harm a WDC challenge when/if we do get racing :fp:

Obviously can’t say for certain but it’s included near the top in this link, https://www.crash.net/f1/gossip/937524/ ... says-marko

So watched this Nascar race the other day was not bad actually i enjoyed it

currently watching this race on a short 1 mile oval good so far very close racing. Good thing about this classic era of Nascar no silly caution flags or fake cautions no gimmicks

Next up will be either Indy 500 1993 or Sebring 12 hours 2009

Haven't seen him in person sadly, i wrote to Petty Enterprises back in the 90's and he was kind enough to send me a signed card (pretty sure the writing on the envelope is his too).

My motorsport autograph collection is pretty extensive and contains a lot more than just F1 folk. ;)

One of my fave non-F1 sigs is from Helio Castroneves (multiple indy 500 winner with Team Penske), actually got to meet him as i was present at the 2001 CART race at Rockingham (look it up if you get time).

F1 could learn a lot from NASCAR in terms of presentation of esports:
