Well then you can't be a successful F1 driver as everyone knows drivers with moustaches drive faster.
Why else would an F1 team spend £5m to save 2 grams in weight only for it to be put back on by it?

I think Vettel is the type that once F1 shuts its gates to him, he won’t do formula e or WEC etc.

I don't think his heart has been in the sport for a while now.
I think it'll be retirement and he'll go and do something completely different.

He hasn't really been the same since he ended up in the tyres when leading at Hockenheim in 2018.

That error, along with Hamilton gaining the upper hand in the '18 title race seemed to have a pretty major psychological effect.

Seeing rumours (again) on Twitter this morning that Sainz is Ferrari bound and then Ricciardo is heading to McLaren, leaving the best theoretical seat for Vettel being Renault. It wouldn’t surprise me if he’d choose retirement over Renault as their improvements have been marginal at best over the past couple of years unless he feels up for a bit of a challenge and doesn’t mind slim chances of a podium over the next couple of years.

Means Hülkenberg might be back though :datass:

I don’t think his heart is in it either to be honest, even more so from Canada 2019 where it was a very much on the limit move but ultimately ok in my opinion, then moves like Verstappen on Leclerc at Austria were equally risky and on the limit but not penalised.

No he’s not really, hence why realistically his best chance of staying was McLaren as they do seem on the up already and a switch back to Mercedes power should help a little as well. Far out move would be Red Bull but that’s only be if one of their current drivers got a better offer elsewhere like Verstappen at Mercedes for 2021 for example. Again all very unlikely.

Loved the old Hockenheim, it was a great race to watch on TV, and a fun track to drive in the various F1 games i played over the years.

Rumour mill in full swing today, both Vettel and Ricciardo rumoured to be signing for McLaren (they won’t, why would they get rid of Norris), Helmut Marko has also said Red Bull wouldn’t be able to afford Vettel so that’s likely a no go. Even with no F1 I can’t help but search for news when I have a free moment or two

I honestly wish they’d confirm a calendar, need to know what to try and book off from work!

Good move for Ricciardo, only leaves Renault for Vettel should he want it, imagine they wouldn’t exactly say no if he came asking about it as they now have a seat spare, Hülkenberg would slot very nicely back into the seat as well though.

Seb to Mercedes or retirement.
