Seriously though, thoroughly well deserved knighthood. Though I'm a bit perplexed at it being insisted on by Boris Johnson of all people.

Why does Boris suggesting Lewis gets a knighthood baffle you?

I'm not sure. Probably just can't imagine him being much of a fan I guess. That or I'm an immense cynic and think it probably ticks a few boxes

Boris Johnson is a well documented racist.

The dickheads are out in force on facebook today, this is what i posted earlier about Hamilton's Mercedes contract negotiations...

If Lewis wants too much money, just pop George Russell in the car instead, then if Lewis still wants to race, he can drive the Williams for a much smaller salary ;)

Then this was the response...

you don't talk about foot ball players I wonder why every black person now's whats it like to be white but not one of you now's whats it like to be black strawberry float off

:shifty:

Not sure what football has to do with anything.

Whilst not being a fan of the Melbourne Albert Park circuit, I looked up on YouTube of a drive around the circuit layout during the off season. I can't believe how different it looks. Even more so than Monaco, where Monaco at least retains some of the curbs, and obviously the iconic buildings.

Albert Park is almost unrecognisable though, it must be an incredible logistic challenge to transform that each year for the GP. I'm amazed a purpose built circuit wouldn't be a heck of a lot cheaper in terms of holding a race.

When I went to Albert Park you don't get the impression it's anything other than GP circuit. Obviously it's a park as well but in terms of the track it doesn't seem like anything else belongs there.

While on holiday in Dubai, as the UK is still allowing everyone to fly to more or less anywhere they want :fp: hope he gets well soon though, sounds like the only symptom is no taste currently.

Also seeing on Twitter a little controversy surrounding Sainz, apparently (I’ve not see the video in question) he donned black face at a recent karting event.

I do plan on making a 2021 Motorsport thread, it’ll probably be at the weekend though. Reckon for the calendars I’ll just be linking to the respective official sites as with the above post, I get a feeling a few races could be changed over the course of the year as things get better/worse.

I think we could see quite a few changes yet to the calendar (which is why I’m not going to bother adding it to the 2021 thread).

I’ve just started writing out the 2021 thread anyway :toot: I’ll try not to make it too lengthy but I think I might just mainly talk F1 in the opening post and include other calendars for some of the other series, then we can freely chat anything motorsport within as we have this year. How many people have F1 2020 here anyway? Just wondering whether to include a bit of a hot lap competition for the next race (game/calendar depending of course), with a pre season round for Spain of course (which means we could probably miss a round for the Spanish Grand Prix weekend so we don’t do it twice, or pre season could be Albert Park?), we’d have to make a choice on the car though to level the playing ground.
